Ironically, letting his vice play first would have been the optimal choice
Not that my pick had been much more brilliant

33p now from 1st to 5th, after 33 GWs
that's exactly 1p per GW on average!

Anyway,
Funko chose with 2 non-playing GK, to anticipate one of his GW34 Transfers to GW33, to bring in an equally non-playng Mignolet.
He's of course planning to pack his XI with doublers.
Had he kept the Mignon-lait move for GW34, he'd have got one less hit this GW, retaining the lead, and one more hit next GW, totalling the same score.
In the end the outcome will be the same, except maybe for Price Change purposes (which I didn't check)

Going for a playing GK this GW, on his way to Mignolet next one, would have costed him 1 more hit in total. Who'd have you bet on in such case Funko? The WBA & Foxes CS were not easy to predict, or at least a bit risky to bet on. Howard? Hart?
Eventually, considering that the Costa/Remy fragility leave a Chelsea FWD uncertain, unless you plan to bring in Fab or JT too, a viable bet would have been Courtois, who you could keep for GW34 with a double too... but playing Utd (albeit it turned out well) and Gunners didn't make him a great propsect for CS anyway.
I'd probably have gone the same as you did.

I' not taking a 4 points hit to bring in someone who plays twice this week. I'm not. Really.

Yeah, you make it sound deliberate but it was yet another ridiculous mistake from me...

congratulations on passing me but why on earth did it take you so long?

PROVISIONALLY

damn Moreno not playing tonite either, I'm getting Alder's 1p from the bench, while you'll get Downing's 3p (eligible as you had fielded a 4.3.3)
the current 12p gap is thus virtually enlarged to 14p already

we both have Haz Captian and Mignolet between the posts, so it will be up to:
Funko - Vardy (doubt?), Sterling, Ivanovic
MoSe - Henderson, Fabregas, Terry
(playing tonite)

and you having taken 1 hit less

as Top 5 are now rather close, it should be interesting (again) to show current standings and who'll play who tonite
Code:
now +sub Haz Ter Ivn others:
Funko 1766 3 C X Vardy
MoSe 1754 1 C X Fabregas
Glum 1744 - X
Walrus 1737 - C X Courtois
Fist 1731 - C X X Cambiasso Waski
so we'll be easily monitoring the match and woe/rejoice "live"

apparently Glum didn't remember/bother to update his team for GW34, so he should be easy prey for the two podium chasers behind
with rumours about Courtois possibly rested too, Fist might also catch Walrus

the funny thing, is that Bas' "dead team" is putting together a monster score with the players who were doing well end of september
and is currently 3 pts ahead Fist to win April
but he only plays Azpi, non-captain Hazard, and Costa (who'd be subbed by Berahino's 2p)
with his 5 doublers tonite Fist should be able to make up the small gap and retake the Monthly crown

So MoSe you need Fabregas and Terry to score 15 points more than Vardy and Ivanovic to retake the lead.

Currently I'll be leading on transfer difference if we finish on equal points. (that did happen in another league I was in once)

Nigel Pearson said he would take the decision whether to play Jamie Vardy against Chelsea tonight out of the striker's hands, if he thought he would do serious damage to his injured foot.
Vardy has been outstanding for City in recent games and has scored three in the last five fixtures, including the winners at Burnley and West Brom.
However, he only played at Turf Moor after having an injection in his foot and he will be assessed by medical staff before Pearson picks his side to take on the champions-in-waiting at the King Power Stadium (7.45).
Pearson said the injury was just a discomfort at the moment but he is not keen for the player to undergo more injections.
Although Vardy will be bursting to face Chelsea tonight, Pearson said he will do what is right for his £1million signing.
I'll content of curtailing the gap, 4 more GW to go, cue Fab assist for JT header

but Ki came in last 13' to score!

anyway, for other reasons I had prepared a graph of your ranking over the previous seasons

in 2011 ther was only Walrus to save the Show (of you current 8, you might care to scoop up that season thread, or didn't you have a HoF one?),
but then I guess, marriage, kids, working abroad, etc., might have dented your effort/commitment into FPL

At the moment we top 4 range around 300k (+/- 50k)
That would be the worst "best result" of you 8, and there's only 3GW & 1 match remaining...

Lol it looks like the Rimet Cup in 1970

Btw, why didnt KG renew?
Real Life?
Bored by lack of competition?

In the meanwhile:
Sánchez rips a chasm before CG league chasers agai
I had to decide which Arse to bring in first this gw, and which for the doubler, and of course I chose Giroud ahead Alexis

at least I got rid in my fiso sidegame of the CS points my chasers needed to push me down into drop zone...

they're actually the same data...
the logarithmic scale enhances the peaks above 2-300k,
the linear (true) scale, flattens the tops a bit but enhances the depths in the abyss beyond 1M

it's in everyone's Gameweek history page, for the total I'd have to make the sum myself tho
the FPL Statistico too Funko linked us some month ago gave such totals and the yield too
http://anewpla.net/fpl/
if you put my (or any) FPL ID there you can see all stats for my (or any) team

City match intermediate, counting 3 2 1 bonus Agüero Silva Kolarov
Funko 1841 +18p(-) from 5 = 1859 +23=1882 + Ivan Mertes Sánchez Sterling
MoSe 1818 +26p(-16) from 4 =1828 +62=1890 + Terry Cazorla Giroud
C vs non-C counts as one. Teh differences are wrt me, forgive the egocenticity

Fist 1808 +12p(-) from 5 =1820 +62=1882 + Ivan || MoSe + Sánchez Giroud
Walrus 1802 +12p(-8) from 4 = 1806 +62=1868 + Courtois || MoSe + Cazorla

it looks like Funko, who as leader should use the blocking tactic, was the one who made us the favor to *differentiate* his team, by not captaining Agüero, or not owning Terry who just scored while Im posting (not counted above yet). Maybe such moves are driven by other leagues he's in...
He'll likely retake the lead tomorrow (if not tonite already) thanks to Sánchez Captain, and Mertesacker

of course then it's to be seen in last 2 gw whether the moves I made and repaid me well now (-12p for 3 Funding Foxes who repaid themselves so far, and gave me budget for Silva Sánchez), will represent a liability/ballast instead undoing this gw gain...

I don't look at other people's teams and afaik you can't see who they've picked before the closing date anyway. I thought Aguero was my captain anyway. Forgot to check as always.

of course you can't see other's picks before the deadline, but you can try to figure it out
I saw you made 1 transfer, alas I didn't note down your bank balance beforehand, but seeing as how you twice had captained Silva over Aguero (GW30/33) I thought you might had brought him back for the QPR fixture, leaving 2 FT to complete your double gunners trio next gw. I was ready to captain Silva to differentiate from the mainstream (and from you), but then I thought you might do the job for me so I stuck with the safest pick
Besides, your Captain last GW was not Sanchez, but Hazard instead. So at some point this gw you did move the band to Alexis willingly... luckily (*) for us you forgot then you had changed your mind

(*) Of course, as in some old pistol duels, which took shooting in turns, it's your turn tonite, and with a Clean Sheet and a Sanchez brace you could retake the lead anyway, without even needing for Alexis to be the best captain pick

And anyway, it takes something away from one's achievements, knowing that you're prevailing over opponents who play with one hand tied... (not that it would be required in pistol or even fencing duels )
I'll take it as you'd be offering me a rookie handicap as in golf (?)

And wow the comeback is real.
I figured my 4 hits for -16p this GW was the event spurring your question again, I know we debated earler in the season the merit of taking more or less (or no) hits

For this GW, see my explanation I posted there http://www.fiso.co.uk/forum/viewtopi...02176#p2702176
and a comment http://www.fiso.co.uk/forum/viewtopi...02793#p2702793
basically, I couldn't stand the pressure of taking the right decision, I snapped and went ahead "carelessly"

Re: the point hits taken in general, see this topic where you see a players sample choices and opinions http://www.fiso.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=115640
and my post http://www.fiso.co.uk/forum/viewtopi...70481#p2670481 as of GW25
After that I only took hits in 3 GWs (out of 11)
2 hits GW28 for the TOT-QPR DGW (Austin Eriksen Rose)
3 hits GW34 for the CHE/LIV DGW (Fab Hendo Migno Moreno )
4 hits this GW as explained above, I jerked-off

the fact that I often come close to crucial GWs in the season with only 1 FT also shows how my planning is poor

from anewpla.net, updated as of last GW35
Total Transfers : 54
Total Points Hits : 88
so I took 22 hits, plus 4 now make them 26 for 104p!
over 33 GW (GW1 could get no hits, plus 2 WC played)

it also says Total Immediate Points Gained from Transfers : 200
but those include also Points gained from FREE Transfers...

I've never gone to those lengths... also I'm competing in multiple leagues, my main one I'm like 10th in and have sort of given up.

I'm not sure if I changed my mind or did it wrong, or forgot. I put Alexis C and Aguero V, but I thought I'd done it the other way round. I tend to make some changes early in the week when I check my points so that when I forget on Friday it's mostly OK. And I then aim to get back to it on Friday to check everything but normally forget.

My technique is basically - oh he's been shit for a few weeks, who looks good as a replacement? Like most normal players.

AHA!! Now I remember - I am on holiday at the weekend/next week so I put Sanchez as captain in case I forgot to change anything before that to make sure he was (C) for double gameweek.

that is true in the first half of the season, albeit when I got players on the rise it was never just for the money, I really hoped they could keep on performing well too!
and towards the end of the season, when you decide it's time to move out logntime-held players who rose a lot in price since you got them, of course you sacrifice some value as fee, knowing you can't get back someone at their same current price
But with few GWs left to play, of course your moves are opportunity-driven,
you're not aiming to stash money or care for the "value convenience" of a player, you just go for highest returns you can afford with what you have left
For instance, you can see in my GW history my total value fell 0.6m from last gw with thos 5 transfers (mainly due to Kane fee IIRC)

Yes, and it's been great having you part of it.

I didn't mean not normal was bad, but I guess I see how it sounds.

-16 TC MoSe?! wow. Ok I see now why I'm not 30+ points behind like I was expecting when I saw you got 99.

The browser view with all the detail is great, but I can't get that on my phone.
