first part was boring, second part escalated splendindly.
amazing special effects, crap story (unless you are into crawling back into your mother's womb and be spoon fed fairy tales)

all in all a resounding 6 (but go see it in 3D 'cause the special effects rock)

on a side note, the SO had to attend some class in that afternoon so I went to see the hobbit at the first show.
that is, first time it ever played, first day and in 3D.

needless to say the majority of people there were such nerds they bordered on the psychopathic.
and there were also some lesbians and some normal people, and me.

Pah, "The Hobbit". I didn't even watch the first one when I heard they would make three (!) parts out of it.

7/10 Quite liked the beginning with the spiders then the battle along the river but after that it sent me to sleep. It all looked great but the final third felt so long and drawn out and that dragon talking? Load of crap really as was most of the dialogue.

They had to fill three films with a nice story, so don't blame them! Only because they want my money!

6/10: too many ways to kill orcs.
The rivulets of gold coins were cool.

5/10

Visually stunning, but basically a kiddie's cartoon show...

All the most preposterous parts aren't even in the book.

Makes me wonder who's taking the piss the most? Jackson with Tolkien, or Lucas with Star Wars...?

Still, I knew what it was going to be like and I still paid my money...
