Falling Skies

totally sucked me in

You have to wonder how long they can continue to feed themselves by scavenging food processed before the invasion (and find fuel for vehicles). It's great having the resources of an entire planet at your disposal to repel an alien invasion, except when you have no manufacturing capability left.

I have only seen the first one so far, got episodes 2 and 3 on the planner to catch up with.

It has a lot of promise. Wasn't convinced of casting of Dr Carter based on the first episode and I wasn't entirely convinced the aliens wouldn't be able to spot convoys of people + vehicles moving around on major roads.

Possibly.

Watched second one last night. Still unsure about it.

Yes, definitely missed at least one. Am finding myself simultaneously massively annoyed by it and really enjoying some of the compelling ideas it has…
I wonder which emotion will eventually win out?

Not new as such, just looking like there's a bit more thought behind it. A bit like Battlestar Galactica, for example.

Thought this improved as it went on. Final twist annoyed me.

And I'm not sure how they were melting down that super hard alien metal without any kind of forge?

I sort of kept forgetting it was on or recording it. I guess that shows what I thought of it.
