A dream?

I am sitting on an angular boulder at the base of a basalt cliff formed a billion years ago. To the west in the orange-tinged sunset highlights impossibly green treeless hills shorne by millions of sheep over centuries. This ecological catastrophe is beautiful. Is this ironic? I have read that Yanks don't get irony.
Is this free verse poetry? I hate poetry. How ironic.
"I wonder what became of all the Rockers and the Mods.
I hope they are making it and they've all got stead jobs,
Oh but rock and roll still lives on,
Yeah, rock and roll still lives on. "
