Do you know if they are sitting in on one of your classes or do they do all the teachers?

Sadly they still do have time, Most people don't know if an inspector will turn up in their class. I do know one will be in 3rd lesson tomorrow - I've been picked to have an inspector observing a deputy head observing me (they are inspecting the inspection process - if that makes any sense). The DH is a knob so I've changed my lesson plan so he won't have a clue whats going on. The lesson is International Baccaleareate chemistry, DH is a history teacher. We are doing a practical followed by a load of maths. I know what is going on, the kids will know whats happening, the ofsted guy will see a good lesson and the DH won't have the slightest idea what anyone else is talking about...Should encourage him not to volunteer me for inspecting inspections next time around...

Er, not trying to be annoying or pedantic, but as a teacher, aren't you supposed to know how to spell 'baccalaureate'...?

absolutely. But as a teacher whoes put in two successive 12+ hours days this week I'm now well and truely off duty, feel free to criticise my speling betwen the hours of 8.30 and 3.30 when I'm being payed to be right.

Any correct spelling outside those hours is purely coincidental.

I think he did that one on purpose: Two definite spelling mistakes, as well as three typos and at least one grammatical error.

That is too much of a statistical aberration for any teacher wrt spelling. Hopefully.

I'm pretty sure i should be 100-0ing Funko about now...

Anytime you see speling its pretty safe to assume someone is taking the piss.

day one down, got observed in a completely different lesson than the one told about. Got a "Satisfactory" which I'm a bit pissed off with as I've always been "Good" on previous observations. Feedback basically came down to the inspector saying he would have concentrated on a slightly different aspect of the same subject... No comment on teaching style, resources, planning, marking etc. Just "He would have done it differently..." Rapidly coming to the conclusion that Ofsted have only slightly more clue as to what happens in schools than teacher training lecturers at Uni... incidently if I'd given that feedback to a pupil during marking I would be rightly criticisied for not giving any usefull guidance...

It's one of those quaint sado-masochistic fetishes the british are so fond of.
