Forum Upgraded - Feedback please

Yes it looks a bit shit at the moment. You can change to one of our classic styles but they might not work great until we've had chance to fix them.

Yes, some of the images need changing.

Yes, some of the smilies are different (I'll try and bring them back)

Yes, I've added a NERD smiley

There are so many new options it's going to take a while to sort it all out.

Can you put useful feedback or things we need to look at in this thread, I'll start a new one for whining and bitching about change.

Can I suggest using the "light" theme for the moment until we get the dark one sorted, it actually looks pretty good.

And for a dark theme, change to "darkfutura".

Right, I've spent enough time on this today. I'll come and try and sort out the 'dark' style later/tomorrow.

Actually that was quite quick, I thought it would've taken you a lot longer. If it were poly, well, it would've been years

...I think you'll need to work on the antialiasing of the logo for different schemes though. Just to be awkward

Yeah, ignore my silliness...I'm impressed that you've done the upgrade and the speed of the turnaround. If this were poly we'd be expecting another 10 server crashes yet before things were "sorted out". And by "sorted out", I mean not

I could have left it all turned off until we'd fixed the styling but I figure you all posting shit is more important than how it looks for now.

It doesn't look too bad actually - I have the dark blue colour theme on, but this quick reply box clashes with it big style...

Right, for people wanting a dark style choose darkfutura, it's the best available at the moment, closest to our old style and the one we'll be working on.

Things that definitely have to go:

Post counts
IM Icons
Extremely large icons, uneconomical design with each post having tons of whitespace

Things that are of questionable value:

Huge Poster names
Online button
All the other new bloaty "features"

Other than that, GREAT WORK GUYS!

Yeah, there is quite a handy multi-quote feature on the more modern versions of vBulletin...although saying that, like we ever post cogent responses to multiple posts

I think you need to make the usernames smaller. The sidebar is taking up way too much of the screen. Other than that, good job, although I'll be switching back to the dark colour scheme when it's available.

i've made 13,651 pointless posts here. i wonder how much time that amounts to. maybe the post count will inspire me to get on with my real life instead of waste it online?

nah...

There is another solution to your problem:

Get a decent monitor that supports proper resolutions

Any reason we're on 3.6? Why not upgrade to the latest 3.8.2?

It is not possible to upgrade directly from vBulletin 2 to vBulletin versions 3.8.x and newer due to incompatabilities in data structures.

I mean it's great we've upgraded to 2006, but before too much time is spent customizing this back to what we want...upgrading to 2009 might be in order.

That light style hurt my eyes. It's like being in a pub until 8 in the morning and walking out into the bright sunlight.

I might go up to 3.8.2 tomorrow. I wanted to make sure everything was stable on 3.6, and get some of this stuff configured considering the scale of the changes that have happened to this point.

There's no point sorting out all the styling on 3.6 and then having to do it again on 3.8.2, so we might as well bite that bullet too.

Ignore me - a good idea to separate the constructive and other issues. Thumbs up.
