Coldplay live

Saw them live on thursday. Great concert. Especially the bit where they played 3 songs on the steps between two rows of seats. About 10 meters from where I was sitting. Never seen a band do that before. On stages extended out into the crowd, yes. Not IN the crowd.

Also caught them live (on tele anyway) at Sound Relief, concerts put on in Sydney and Melbourne to aid the bush fire victims from Victoria and the flood victims in Queensland. What got me was that before they were announced, the compares were talking about Coldplay, and how they had actually gone out to visit the bushfire sites.

This wasn't publicised (that I saw anyways - aka it wasn't a case of publicity), but gave me a much greater appreciation of how willing they were to help out (also learnt they publicise Oxfam and Make Poverty History). I always liked their music, but now I have a greater appreciation of them being "nice guys." So, well done Coldplay.

So their charity work wasn't publicised, except for when it was mentioned on national television?

It happened weeks ago, and the compere mentioned it in terms of "oh, and did you know..." to the other compere.

And I am guessing that Protein disagrees with me too.

I hated Coldplay from the very first moment I heard him caterwauling all over "Yellow".

Knowing opinions around here about Bono, I won't ask more...
