defcon

anyone played defcon? it's a vector graphics effect game in which you play a nuclear war game. it's a bit like the film wargames. they call it a "genocide 'em up".

it's really, really, really addictive and only a tenner to download.

I confess I didn't find it very absorbing. I really wanted to like it, but I think I wasn't very good at it, which, combined with the slow game pace, meant I never saw enough feedback between my actions and the consequences to feel that I made any difference to the outcome.

it's not the sort of game i'd be into normally but it suits the pace of the studio. the three of us can set a game up and pretty much leave it for 20 minutes, do some work and then go back to it.

needless to say it was affecting our work so we've had to stop.
