Just finished this one, and I'm a bit disappointed.

It got rave reviews, but I compare every 1st person rpg I play to the old classic Deus Ex, and Bioshock falls some way short. The graphics are lovely and it creates a good chilling atmosphere just like the old System Shock games, but it doesn't have anything like as complex a storyline. The monsters are all a bit ho-hum too, and there's nothing like the same options for creative gameplay. The levels are all pretty samey too.

Anyone else played it?

Yeah loved it. The artistic direction was really good; kinda reminded me of House on Haunted Hill or Fallout.

I got maybe halfway or less and shelved it for later.

Very good setting, okay story, less than okay fights (though I'm much weaker at FPS than RTS or MMO now).

I *don't* like that it's a very very save and reload driven game. I couldn't figure out some passages without a heavy amount of reloading, and I found some fights I had to *win*, instead of just stay alive with the monster dead at the end. It's very stingey with the extra ammunition and healthpacks, you can successfully defeat all the current enemies and be left without any hope of progress. =/
