Uh-Oh...

I was installing an app the other day when it suddenly stalled three-quarters of the way through and my second hard drive started making unusual (scratchy) noises. Tried again with the same results.

Ran scandisk from windows with the full surface scan (yes, it's Win 98) and it stalled (making noises) after 7000 clusters or so. Ran scandisk in DOS mode and the scan slowed down immensely at a couple of points (requisite noises present) but surprisingly got through the whole thing without crashing or reporting bad sectors.

None of my existing data has shown signs of being corrupt.

Is my HD dying? It's only four-ish years old.
