Like driving directions but not

I want to make for trip planning. Instead of giving you directions to get to one place from another, it tells you which radio stations you can listen to on the way depending on what genre (rap, rock, talk radio, sports radio, etc) you pick. How can I do this?

But sometimes, especially at night with AM stations, it takes a while.

The best way to do it once would be to use this site for each location along the route, and patch together a list of your choice.

The best way to do it n times would be to figure out the range of each station, then modify a Google maps api (the one from this site already has the locations of radio masts) to plot station coverage regions, and then get it to autogenerate a list of regions passed through, filterable by genre.

Or take some CDs.

This one by NPR is very nearly useful [link], except you can only search for one city or zip code at a time, you can only view the coverage region for one station at a time, the program schedule for that station is two clicks away, and obviously it can't do routing yet.

Someone should email them.
