Hard drive fail

Anyone know any tools to recover the MBR on a drive which has completely lost it's mind?

Drive failed quite spectacularly XP crash left drive unusable and not initialised, so having initialised it, now XP wants me to format it. It does have a considerable amount of work on so i don't want to format it.

Using a programme called file scavenger i can see that the structure and files are still in place, but non of the information is accessable due to the MBR (i think) not being present.

Is there anyway to repair this or am i going to end up recovering every file and starting again?

Nothing to see here.

Fixed it with a useful little app called partition table doctor.
