Silver

Is silver bad for you? There is this good Indian bakery I go to and they have this odd idea that you can eat silver.

One of my friends swears that a colloidal silver solution cures everything. I think its a load of horse manure...but the silver hasn't seemed to hurt him, yet.

This place has it advertised

gold is very good for you in fact- a lot of specialist foods have gold leaf (and they put it in Goldschlager which is lush)

If I remember correctly, gold is one of the least reactive elements out there. So it just goes straight through, unless you, like, eat a big nugget or something.

SP is correct, Gold will just pass straight through as it went in - completely indigestible, yet harmless...

Silver is more reactive and you could absorb small quantities so I probably wouldn't advise it's ingestion. And as for lead, highly toxic if absorbed by the body.

stuffs i finded:

Gold is an effective medicine for controlling some types of arthritis and related diseases. In some people, it helps relieve joint pain and stiffness, reduce swelling and bone damage, and reduce the chance of joint deformity and disability.

To those who use minerals, metals and crystals for healing Gold symbolizes the purity of spirit and they attribute the power of cell regeneration, energy conductivity, communication transmission and energy purification to the metal. According to their belief system, Gold spurs the regeneration of neurotransmitters in both lobes of the brain and creates a balance of brain function between creative and logical thought. It also benefits the nerves with its ability to improve the flow of information through the body. In the world of spiritual healing, Gold has the emotional power to ease tension, feelings of inferiority, an anger as well as encouraging the realization of one’s potential and bringing comfort.

Healing uses for Gold based on the beliefs of the New Age include the treatment of blood, skin, neurological and heart disorders. They believe Gold to be an energy generator and remover of blockages with the power to strengthen, amplify and conduct energy in the body for the treatment of autism, dyslexia, epilepsy and scoliosis.

While the 14 Karat gold filled jewelry is not solid gold, the gold in the gold filled wire can still have an energetic impact. Gold can balance energy fields, and is beneficial for opening and balancing the third eye and crown chakras. It can also balance the heart chakra. It can remove negative energy from the chakras and bring in the positive from the stones it is with. It has been used to bring wealth, happiness and good feelings. Gold is a mineral of spirituality, understanding, and attunement to nature. It attracts positive energy and is a great healing mineral

Gold has special power when used in meditations and visualisations. Itīs the

The saints and angels in Medieval sacred paintings have a golden circle above their head as a symbol of perfection, saintly virtues and an ultimate connection with God.

Gold is also the highest, final colour in the alchemical transformational sequence (black - white - red - gold).

Gold visualisation helps fight against depression and apathy, gives an abundance of optimism, feelings of happiness, prosperity and faith. Create a gold mental shield around your body when you feel threatened by someone and need special protection together with strong self-confidence.

Gold, silver jewels and objects have similar qualities, but a weaker effect than visualisations and meditations.

No it isn't. Lots of elements have biological functions: iodine, iron, magnesium, molybdenum, etc, etc, but gold isn't one of them. Would you apply the same logic to thallium or mercury, both of which are highly toxic?

Exotic as it sounds, gold is indeed one of the standard treatments for rheumatoid arthritis, and has been used for years. In fact many experts consider gold to be among the most effective drugs for reducing the inflammation in the joints and so decreasing the usual symptoms of pain, swelling and stiffness. Sometimes gold is also used to treat other rheumatic diseases, such as the arthritis associated with psoriasis.

Injections or tablets

Of course, gold isn't used in its pure metallic form but as a compound, given as injections or taken as tablets.

Saying that you need gold in your body because they use a gold compound to deliver drugs effectively is like saying that you need iron in your body because syringes have steel tips.

Gold does just pass straight through. A gold compound, if it reacts, will drop the compound part and the remaining gold will pass straight through.

The author seems to use gold and the compound interchangeably. My guess is that these are side effects of the compound. AFAIK, it's not possible to have a reaction to elemental gold.
