Arrow CYKI Week 27

Sod it, Netscape sucks, I can't get the formatting to work. Can someone else please post the table?

Anyway, finally a change at the top this week. With 80 points scored, Beta moves into top spot after Sean has a terrible week. 80+ scores from RC, *EIF* and Bugs keep them in the race whilst Mike slips behind, although Hasselbaink's hat-trick keeps him within touching distance of the top five.

In the bottom half, Shaker hits 70 to move above Nav, who also has a poor week, but a noticeable gaps is emerging as the top six pull away from the rest of the field. At least that's the plan.

Can Sean's last-ditch changes see him return to the pole position he's held from the start?

Not a good week for me. Although 45 isn't really a bad score; I've had worse weeks. But if everybody else scores in th 60s-80s range you do fall behind.

Hmm, there's a bit of a gap developing between myself and RC in third... have to see what can be done about that. Rather disappointed that I managed 80+ points with only 8 scoring players. Made a couple of transfer errors, fortunately haven't really been punished (go Ruud!) but I've still lost ground I feel.

*phew* 61 points but more than half of them were from Jimmy Floyd.

Clean sheet for Charlton would have given me 77 points... Ah well, what should I do with the Charlton defence?

I think I might need to make some more transfers this week... not sure who though.

I sold Powell and Brevett. Harte and Zavagno are now in. I had never heard of Zavagno, but for 2.8 he seems a decent buy. He can't do much worse than the players I had before.

Out JP Angel 7.2 in P Mboma 7.0
Out J Costa 3.6 in M Desailly 4.3

Decided to keep a lot of the Charlton defence... they are away at Tottenham at the weekend then at home to Southampton so if they don't get good points this week they will next and I still can't afford anyone better.

Leaves me quite firmly in 6th. I'm also keeping Jenas for the moment... hopefully they'll at least get a clean sheet against Ipswich. Mbomba and Dessailly in.. they could cancel each other out at the weekend but I think they'll both be good scorers in coming weeks and Desailly is vastly underpriced at 4.3 'cause he's been injured.

I bought Taricco the week before.. That was inspired.. he cost me a total of 7 points the arsehole. 2 to get him in -3 in his first match then 2 to transfer him out.

thank you thank you.

Bit annoyed actually, for the 2nd week made compeltely the wrong choice for captain, sol campbell got 12 points for his cs, van nistelroy would have go 32? for his 2 goals and an assist! Oh well will rectify that next week.

Transfers are a bit of a puzzle at the moment, Nolan is suspended so is likely to get fired but I have no idea who to bring in to replace him. Jansen didnt play the last blackburn match (doh!) but with cole suspended can hardly be left out next week... So I'm looking for a striker at the 7.8 mill point or a midfielder for around 5.7. Noone jumps out at me this week as a good buy so who knows.

I made a few more transfers. I now have the following team:

1: E Van der Sar
2: I Harte
3: S Campbell
4: L Young
5: L Zavagno
6: R Pires
7: P Vieira
8: P Scholes
9: D Bergkamp
10: R V Nistelrooy (C)
11: J Euell

I hope that this will get me some more points. At least my defense should do better. I had been thinking about selling Van der Sar, but I'm keeping him for sentimental reasons.

2 goals and an assist for a striker who plays more than 70 mins is 13 so 26 if he was captain.

Hasselbaink got 2 games and 3 goals (2*2) + (3*4) = 16

Fulham have some good games coming up... I nearly bought Van Der Saar back again.

Fulham do not have good games, they have games against teams threatened by relegation, which are the worst kind of games. You want you rplayers to be playing against Villa, Spurs, etc. in the mid-table, not a team that are battling for survival.

God I'm good. Have I reminded everyone that I spent all of August to early December in 12th position? If I'd started like I'm finishing I'd be pissing all over you.

I'm happy with my team now, though I'm wondering if replacing Lampard with Ljungberg was wise.

Well done. If I had carried on like I started, I would have the thing sewn up.

It is, of course, the form over the whole season that counts. Unfortunately.

If they can recover from a bad week.

I have two Chelsea players, two Man Utd players, and two Arsenal players. I figure if any of those teams have a good weekk I’ll be in on it.

Ljungberg - hasnt played for a few weeks, injury? Not been paying attention there. Veira looks like a steal at 5.3mill now that misconduct things been sorted out. Assuming he dosnt bugger off to spain before the end of the season.

Lampard is tempting too.

gudjohnsen, smudjohnsen! I have MAT JANSEN!!!!!!!!!!!

ok maybe thats a little over enthusiatic!

I'm playing 5-3-2 at the moment so that + Batty or parker is the lot.

I'm quite peased I can field 11 good players now rather than the 9 good and two crap I had near the beggining of the season.

My line up-

Barthez
Staunton
Harte
Hyypia
Ljungberg
Konchesky
Batty
Beckham
Vassell
Jansen
Gudjohnson

I've also got Alan Stubbs on the bench so if any first-teamers don't play I'm practically guaranteed some points from him.

Not too bad.

Today's games could have been better for me. Scholes got a goal and Zavagno got an assist, but Van der Sar conceded two goals. And when ManU scores 5 goals I expect a contribution from my most expensive player. But I noticed that something similar happened at Chelsea, so that should impact on most of us.

I think this week will see me in 4th and closing the gap, though there's still a big drop-off after the top three. That Champion's League slot will probably remain elusive.

No chance. Beta's team is worth about 5 million more than mine and that's really going to count in the closing weeks. Although I've got a team of players all pretty much guaranteed points each weeh I'm a little short of big scorers.
