PC version of PES3 confirmed

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=53036
Quote:
After implying yesterday that Pro Evo 3 on the PC was less than a dead cert and telling us to watch out for their ECTS press announcement, we finally got hold of the disc this morning and discovered all the supposedly unconfirmed details waiting for us in black and white. We can certainly see how this press release became the various news items we’ve read, so we’re guessing it also made an appearance at Games Connection in Leipzig.

Obviously there were no shots (or you’d be looking at them right now) and the game was decidedly absent from the Konami stand here at ECTS (which was very nice regardless - we like air conditioning and freshly squeezed orange juice), but the release is more specific than we expected - it does say November, it does say it’s underway at KCET right now, and it does say that we can expect to see everything from the PS2 version - including the new Shop and four-division Master League - and then some. However there is no mention of online multiplayer, just "multiplayer" – boo! Hiss! The referee’s a wanker!

well that's great in principle i suppose, as it shows the penetration and value of the pes brand, but for me it will always be a console game

You can't get decent joypads for the PC anyway.

I've got one. A microsoft Sidewinder one. It's pretty good.

At least this means Venom can play it...

Of course, if there was a decent online multiplayer mode that would get me much more excited about the PC version.

/edit: I've got an MS sidewinder too. They just don't measure up to the Sony pads for the PS2 IMHO ... although that could be as much to do with familiarity as anything else.

I think it's a bit to do with familiarity. I find the sidewinder better for Wipeout, purely because that's what I played wipeout most on to start with.

Oops, sorry. Didn’ I post this when I found out?

Anyway, I’m happy enough with this. The Dual Shock is shit compared tot he Cube controller anyway, especially for WE.

Ahem. It appears that WE6FE didn’t sell at all well, despite a pretty strong import community, so they may not be porting the next version.

IIRC there won't be a GC version of PES3. I can't remember where I read it, but I'm pretty sure I've seen that recently.

Hey... I had a couple of Gravis game pads on my computer that were extremely excellent. I thought they were equal to any console controller.
