The LWP5 thread.

Okay, hopefully i've got this right.

2 songs each, 'head' and 'feet' (I think, I lost track)

No time limit, but I reserve the right to trim/destroy a track which is taking the piss AND too long to fit on the CDs.

*****copy from Scabby*******

1. Each participant submits 2 tracks. Theme is one from the heart, one for the feet. In other words one track that means something to you emotionally, one that makes you want to dance (addendum: or drive really fast on a racecourse).
2. There is no time limit but don't be a dick about it. If you pick two 30 minute tracks just because you can we'll call you names and stuff.
3. Clearly state which track is the "feet" track and which is the "heart" track.
*****end copy from scabby********

Submitters have a choice of One CD of MP3s or 3 of Audio.

Currently I have
************************
Scabrous Birdseed...MP3 er.. mean AUDIO
Funkodrom... MP3
Eklektikos... AUDIO
The Shaker
*End is Forever*... AUDIO
Debaser...whatever I give him
Guy ...MP3
BigGameHunter ...AUDIO
King_Ghidra...MP3
Sean ...MP3
Mr. Bas ...AUDIO
Lazarus and the Gimp ...AUDIO
Provost Harrison ...AUDIO
Immortal Wombat...AUDIO
protein...Mp3 and a bit of whinging
zmama...MP3

***************************************

Submission details......and here's where the arguements start again.

Personally I think that you should send the songs as WAVs
and I can covert them for those that want MP3s.
As sean said before, we don't want to be going MP3 WAV MP3.
But then I aint too hot on this old electronic formatty stuff.

You'll probably have to send them on a CD (if it's CD-RW you get it back again with added bonus tracks) to my address Ric Crocker,
31 The Grove, Reading,Berkshire,England RG1 4RB.
Include a return address. Add some cookies. Don't forget to put the correct number of stamps on.

Who else is in 'merica apart from zmama, BHG and Guy?
Guy...I may take you up on your offer of Amerisiding it if there are many more...we'll wait and see.

Deadline is 7 July arbritrary choice. This is negociable until I say otherwise.

Hows that?

You have a short while to argue further and suggest corrections to this random gathering of stuff.
Once I say 'pants' your time is up.

Why pants? Why not "knickers" or "pantaloons"?
You people are so arbitrary!!!

Okey dokey...guess I need to sort out if my PC allows RWing...I think it does, but it was a bit confusing last time.

I'm tempted to say I want mp3s just to make Rich look rather stupid. However, I would prefer audio. Also, as I'm not home (and therefore sansCD-burner) it'll be the beginning of July before I can get my CD to you anyway...

Sounds good to me Shakey.

Quite a few of the tracks on the last LWP started life as MP3s, I burned them onto CD when I sent them up to Sean. I don' think anyone noticed, so maybe if people are really stuck we could accept the odd mp3?

Sure, but if you do that send them in as MP3s- that way we won't lose anything in MP3-WAV-MP3 conversion.

I was the person who thought of the MP3 thing in the first place. It's amazing how your ideas get taken over isn't it?

I was the one who thought about giving people a choice. Nah nah nah nah. etc.

Funny way of putting it anyway, your idea getting taken over. Do you mean you wanted to compile all the CDs? Or did you really mean it's good that my idea got incorporated with everyone elses.

No. I suggested that instead of having a huge triple CD compilation, this time we could have a single CD with lots of MP3s on it. It only lasted for about two replies though, everyone thinks MP3s are crap it seems.

I think most people who want Audio cd's prefer them because they can be played on ordinary CD players or in cars, which is fair enough.

All the above sounds do-able.

Shaker, I would be happy to be the stateside compiler/distributor. Should help control costs/hassle all around. I'm pretty sure it's just the three of us, though.

Er... I thought it was a great idea and have voted for it every time it came up. It immediately got added to the options and the discussions carried on in the other thread about mp3s. It's only scabby that really hates them, I think everyone else wants audio cds for normal CD players etc like Debs said. Scabby's just louder than everyone else.

I think about two weeks is a reasonable estimate for overseas shipping, so if the deadline is July 7th, then the American songs should be to me by somewhere around June 18th just to give us some time to play with.

PM's away, and don't worry, I've got an awesome chocolate-chocolate chip cookie recipe.

I've just abandoned my original idea of putting on a feet track about love and a heart track about dancing, mainly 'cos the track I had in mind for the latter is so short it can go on a regular LWP.

A good CD-Burner/DVD-Player combo is no more than £50... Surely you can afford that?

Fool.

However my "head" track is the sound of a paranoid schizophrenic buggering a pig's head in a state of delusional panic, married to a 7/4 backing of sampled stabbings.
