I thought a stone was 20 pounds (lbs!)? 207 pounds seems pretty heavy for 5'9".

14 or 16? That's not the fine German precision I've come to know and rely on here in the auto business!

What do you expect from those bloody limeys? Until the 70s, they had 1 pound = 20 shillings = 240 pence

I seem to remember from the BMI scale or whatever that optimal weight for a male of our height is 10st 7lbs - I didn't write the damned thing and I was pretty shocked myself...

Still, there's nothing skinny about me as the others should attest to from our meets the other week.

Hey BGH, how come you yanks don't know how many lbs there are to a stone if you still use Imperial???

The answer is 14.

16oz to 1lb, 14lbs to 1st - it's not exactly rocket science!

So if you weigh 196 pounds, you're gross.

If I could weigh 196 I'd feel great. Tommorow has to be the begining of emergency procedures vis a vis eating and running and possibly some kind of weight lifting. Can't believe it's mittwoch.

I'm currently 23.89
I'm at 25,46
I have started a diet (two days ago) when I realised parts of my belly didn't get uniformely tanned because the fat ripples hid some of the skin
I have to loose 5 kg to come back to a ratio of 23,75
which means no more tiramisu

There you are. I'm 5 foot 9 and now 12 stone 3, which gives me a BMI of 25.29. That's just above the "ideal" range.

Given that I'm a fairly solid build (16 inch collar and cart-horse thighs), a weight of 11- 11.5 stone would leave me as lithe as an otter.

Now see, at a 'mere' 11st I come in at a BMI 22.78 which is almost exactly the perfect BMI for our height...

Even 10st 7lbs, the optimum weight in the scale I can't remember the name of, is acceptable - though too light if you ask me...

Actually it's more like a floating layer of fat - there's still a six pack underneath, it's just camouflaged...

Nothing actually getting off my behind and doing some exercise can fix...

Forgive me topic for I have sinned.

I had a bag of minstrels and a 500ml bottle of real (gasp!) coke.

In my defence I have been to the gym 5 (five) times this week...

Oh my god...you people are savages! Were these minstrels alive or dead when you ate them? I hope they weren't singing, plaintively, begging for mercy?

Diet. Day 5. Weight now 170lbs. So far, so good.

Breakfast consisted of the scrambled whites of three eggs and a satsuma. That's tastier than it sounds, and only 100 calories.

Lunch will be 100g of tuna, with loads of salad, and a banana. That'll be about 250 calories.

Then I get to have a Chinese takeaway tonight and still lose weight.

That's the food group that your body finds easiest to turn into body fat. Cut back on the bread, pastry, rice and pasta. Eat more salad, vegetables and lean meats/fish, and your body will start burning up your fat reserves to keep running.

Find me a rabbit that eats the amount of meat and fish I'm currently eating, and I'll agree. Let alone the Chilli-seasoned pork ribs with shredded chicken fried rice.
