I haven't read any of his other material. I always used to assume it was subliterary trash, and I'm not really into horror; I'll be getting the other six Dark Tower books though.

I really enjoyed it. The 2003 edition is revised and expanded to make it less pretentious and easier to read (I haven't read the original, but that's what King says in the Foreward).
