Halo 3

I got it over the weekend. Maybe I'll review it.

Shining1 01-10-2007 13:50:02

Pls.

My decision to buy an xbox may rest on your words.

Funko 01-10-2007 13:50:56

FPS on a console? It'll never take off

Venom 01-10-2007 13:52:16

Oh the power thrust upon me is glorious!

C.G.B. Spender 01-10-2007 14:00:57

Halo!

I know. I felt dirty typing that and I liked it.

maroule 01-10-2007 14:44:44

got it this morning finally, will play it this week
will NOT review it as I'm too lazy, and looking forward to Venom's review

Funko 01-10-2007 14:47:13

I hope he hates it, much better reviews that way.

maroule 01-10-2007 15:01:40

true but I hope it's a good game all the same, I just shelled out 63 for it

I don't have many doubts on what I'm getting though

Venom 01-10-2007 15:29:06

It's good so far, but I'm not a huge Halo dork so I won't be fawning all over its Haloness.

maroule 01-10-2007 15:33:11

I doubt we have big halo fans here, we almost never hear of FPS on CG (compare to PES, Civ, Champ manager, Eve, etc.)

I'm expecting Halo 3 to be much prettier but to play very closely to th last one. It's good enough, the last two were pleasant experiences.

Funko 01-10-2007 15:57:55

I generally like FPS but haven't managed to finish Half Life 2 yet and lost my save...

... but never really played them on consoles. Controls always used to suck too badly after keyboard + mouse.

Venom 01-10-2007 16:15:09

Something I plan on touching on in my review, FPS on a console is a very tough thing to get right precisely because of the control difficulties in a console gamepad for shooters.

Funko 01-10-2007 16:19:01

You did cover it in your Gears of War review too...

Venom 01-10-2007 17:53:21

Well now I can't do that! Damn my repititious ways.

Lurker the Second 01-10-2007 19:09:54

ctrl-alt-c, ctrl-alt-v

Venom 01-10-2007 19:15:36

 Still a classic.

maroule 02-10-2007 08:40:43

had a 30 mn run yesterday
Graphic are very pretty but not more impressive than GoW
It plays very naturally for a veteran of the series
And I get sea-sickness everytime I play a shooter for more than 30 mn

MDA 02-10-2007 13:54:00

I know that feeling. I could only play HL2 through in short bursts. The vehicle portions were the worst part, motion sickness-wise

MattHiggs 03-10-2007 17:05:57

My copy should be arriving tomorrow - managed to pick up the collectors edition for 32.99 so I'm happy!

I got my 360 last week after selling the Wii. If anyone hasn't played Bioshock yet YOU REALLY NEED TO!

MDA 04-10-2007 11:36:07

not compatible with my video card, and I'm not buying a different card because they dropped the ball in development

and it kills me to do that, because I was really looking forward to it

Asher 06-10-2007 18:55:00

teh awesome

Venom 08-10-2007 12:37:12

I've started the review. But the gist of it is, it's Halo. So however you felt about Halo 2, you'll feel about this. Nothing really new. Just a continuation of the story and mythos with some better graphics thrown in. MP is the same as usual. The Forge tool is pretty cool, but I won't have the patience to master using it.

So I would say it's a good game, but nothing to go insane over.

Lurker the Second 08-10-2007 14:10:42

Excellent, now you can have a flamefest with Asher. I know he's not maroule, but still ......

Asher 08-10-2007 18:11:12

Halo 3 is Halo 2 is teh awesome

^^^^ 200x better than Venom's review

Vincent 08-10-2007 18:26:33

seems to be quite dark in Ming's butt, Asher's typing suffered

Asher 09-10-2007 02:34:39

So has your humour
