Good music DVDs?

Most of them are a collection of the videoclips, obscure live rcordings or commonplace documentations.

Are there some good ones?

Any of the BBC's series documenting the history of music are worth getting, I think, except the one about Reggae which sucked.

I quite like the one Led Zeppelin released in 2003, showcasing some live stuff that had never been released. You can see the difference between their early days and how much smoother they were later on.

I would say These Days by Powderfinger, but I doubt it'd be available outside Aus. In fact I doubt that many people outside Aus know of them.

Greenday's Bullet in a Bible was pretty good, if you like their music.

The Beatles Anthology is peerless.

Super Furry Animals' Rings Around The World is worth a play.

Elvis' Aloha From Hawaii is good fun.

Agreed, the Beatles Anthology is peerless and essential stuff, and No Direction Home is excellent too (though Don't Look Back is the best Dylan documentary).

I also like most of those Directors Series sets (particularly Michael Gondry & Chris Cunningham).

I'll watch pretty much any music program at least once. My parents have some great videos from the early 80s, stuff like Simon & Garfunkel in Central Park (from Belgian TV, complete with a Disco style intro where a crazy guy yellow dungarees (sp?) rollerskates across NY to get to the show) and a Rolling Stone History of Rock video narrated by Dennis Hopper. Both so so good, but probably totally unavailable now.

Ah yeah, the directors collections are excellent. I recently noticed that more had been released. I remember Anton Corbijn was one but I don't know how much U2 I can watch.
