LWP 6 reviews

Who's compiling? Can I still send reviews even though I haven't contributed tracks?

protein 12-01-2004 11:18:55

and can I please have my copy?

Sean 12-01-2004 18:07:05

Funkodrom: I’ll compile, and yes.

Funkodrom 12-01-2004 19:41:49

Sweet.

protein 12-01-2004 19:48:13

I WANT MY COPY!

waaaaaaa!!!!!

Debaser 12-01-2004 19:54:44

Quit whining like a bitch. I'm hardly gonna cycle round to your house in the rain just to give it to you.

Writing my reviews now. How are we going to work this "link" idea and how many should I review?

Debaser 16-01-2004 13:03:39

I think we should spunk off the link idea.

4 lots of 7 song reviews?

Funkodrom 16-01-2004 13:22:28

But.... I think I've spotted one of the links!

protein 16-01-2004 14:27:15

Who submitted this time?

*End Is Forever* 16-01-2004 14:29:43

I imagine most of the links will be pretty tenuous anyway. Mine certainly is. :)

No shit emo so far. :)

Scabrous Birdseed 16-01-2004 15:54:55

You mean you haven't put one track per person per CD?

I mean, the natural way to do the link thing is for reviews on CD2 to contain a row guessing the link, like:

This is a really crap pop-punk song. The lyrics are sappy, dammit Iain!
Guess: *End is Forever*
Link to CD1: Both songs have the word "Tequila Sunrise" in the lyrics.

The one that everyone else will spot, on account of the fact that they're both sung by Joan Baez?

Lazarus and the Gimp 16-01-2004 18:03:37

Here's a tip for anyone trying to connect my tracks. One of them wasn't the track I thought I was selecting. It's not even the same artist or genre.

Jon Miller part Deux 16-01-2004 18:04:27

that works out awfully well

in all honesty, my connection is pretty tenuous, I feel

Jon Miller

protein 16-01-2004 18:06:12

I've sent my reviews to Sean.

Jon Miller part Deux 16-01-2004 18:16:23

I don'/t have my CD yet

 Everyone will think Drekkus submitted some songs.

Lazarus and the Gimp 16-01-2004 20:53:08

I'm not moaning. The one selected by Act of God kicks arse.

BigGameHunter 16-01-2004 22:10:36

Act of God?
That's the name of the first band I was in!!!!

Lazarus and the Gimp 17-01-2004 08:52:34

I bet it was a keyboard-based New Romantic outfit, and you were slim and wearing much mascara.

BigGameHunter 17-01-2004 18:01:08

Uh...no.
Our main instrument was a 12 string acoustic/electric...we had a girl drummer and a 6'7" bass player and me on vocals (I wore dreadlocks, not mascara, nyah nyah!) and played a sort of Doors meets Pixies meets Dead Can Dance sort of hodge podge.
It could have been a great band if interest had not flagged and I hadn't joined the musically spectacular yet soulless "Herb's Buddhafield".
It was a lot of fun though...cool people and the way it is supposed to be...we just didn't know it at the time.
:(

Lazarus and the Gimp 17-01-2004 18:07:14

I played in a band called "Dougal". A mix of punk and near-metal.

There's a pretty cool Welsh punk band called Douglas. Close.

Spartak 18-01-2004 10:21:58

I'm still waiting for my CD :(

Does anyone have enough hosted space so I can download it?

Debaser 18-01-2004 11:08:33

Don't panic, you'll get it tomorrow. Think of the poor American contributers, they'll be waiting weeks.

BigGameHunter 18-01-2004 12:00:06

I hope it doesn't get lost amidst all the "Country Cupboard" and "Aging Ungracefully at 50" catalogs we get from the former tenant. I shit you not, that lady was signed up with at least 20 companies...is there any way to stop that?!?

Debaser 18-01-2004 12:02:35

Kill the postman.

BigGameHunter 18-01-2004 13:14:32

Hmmmm.....ok...right after the CD arrives.

Debaser 21-01-2004 00:27:40

Yay!

Did it arrive unbroken? My packaging was kind of cheapskate.

Jon Miller part Deux 21-01-2004 05:39:02

yah

it was fine

my freinds wondered what it was, where it was from (no address of yours I see), and so on

Return to the company that sent it in a box with a brick attached and don't pay the postage. Works well.

Jon Miller part Deux 22-01-2004 04:19:27

what are we suppose to do with these things? (ReviewS)

Lazarus and the Gimp 22-01-2004 09:46:34

Write a list of numbers from 1 to 7.

For each number, write what you thought of the corresponding track. If you feel like it, try guessing who submitted it, and whether it's linked to any other tracks.

PM it to Sean.

Enjoy.

Scabrous Birdseed 22-01-2004 10:07:35

Actually, that's a question- should we guess the connections on the first CD already (thereby "spoiling" CD2 tracks we know stuff about) or only on the second CD (thereby being aided by the "this is clearly a Debaser track, the other Debaser track was #n, what's the connection between them?" factor)?

Funkodrom 22-01-2004 10:13:04

I think we should leave the connections 'till CD2. Definitely.

Scabrous Birdseed 22-01-2004 10:14:33

Yup, me too. Although it'll be marginally easier.

Funkodrom 22-01-2004 10:17:52

Another positive reason. :)

I did that a week ago!

Funkodrom 22-01-2004 10:43:24

Me too. Laz is such a slacker, deadline doesn't mean the target date.

What if two tracks on CD1 are connected?

Mr. Bas 22-01-2004 14:14:41

So is there one track per person on each cd or are they just randomly put on?
