View Full Version : CounterGlow Game of the Year Voting Thread

16-12-2002, 09:11:26
Here's the thread you've all been waiting for, the CounterGlow game of the year voting thread!

Rules are as follows:

Select three games released on any format in this calendar year and post them in order of preference, 1 being favourite, 2 second favourite, etc.

All first places will awarded 5pts
Second places 3pts
third places 1pt

The game with the most points total at the end of the voting period wins!

Only votes cast in this thread will be counted (or it will get too sodding confusing).

No AE's please ladies and gentlemen :) If it looks like something dodgy is going on i will get very angry and take my ball home :shoot: :bash:

If a game has appeared multi format, eg GTA III, then it wil count as one game regardless of whether the voter has played the PC or PS2 version or whatever. Yes this will potentially give an advantage to some of the multi-format games, but hey that's life :p

My intention is for the voting period to run for this calendar week 16-22 december. Winner to be announced on the 23rd if this is agreeable.

So spread the word and get voting!

PS - Can we make this a sticky?

Now let me add up the scores...

23-12-2002, 10:33:52
CounterGlow game of the Year is (drum roll)

Congratulations!

Morrowind polled 31pts, well clear of second place, which was a tie between

NeverWinter Nights and Grand Theft Auto III

both polled 22pts each

fourth place went to Jedi Knight 2 with 18pts

and joint fifth was Pro Evolution Soccer 2 and Warcraft III with 17pts each.

Thanks to everybody who voted!

(I guess this should go on the front page but i wasn't sure if that was still working at the moment...)

PS if someone wants to double check my totals please feel free!

23-12-2002, 12:06:53

23-12-2002, 16:15:08
Gamespot have chosen Warcraft III as thier game, on PC format of course, of the year. Contenders were from their genre winning games:

Battlefield 1942
Neverwinter Nights
No-one Lives Forever 2

23-12-2002, 16:17:12
There are apparently some issues with the backend still. It really didn't like that article.

23-12-2002, 16:17:22

Gamespy have chosen their Games of the Year by genre with no overall winner. Wusses!

24-12-2002, 18:33:01
So, just post it as a simple piece then. Or beep Nav... just to tick him off. :D

They have an overall winner for the PC...

No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy In H.A.R.M.'s Way

29-12-2002, 04:22:58
I was just looking then, they only announced that recentely as they said there would be no overall winner a few days ago.

29-12-2002, 11:59:39
Overall winner for PC but not for all consoles and PC?
