Watched 2.5 hours of really interesting documentaries from the first DVD of extras. It was awesome. Amazing the lengths they went to to get the film right.

Then saw we hadn't got to the end of page 1 of the 9 pages of extras on that disk... OK so most of them are gallery shots of the characters but still.

I'll have to remember not to put that in the DVD player.

Save that coal, when it's the last fossil fuel on earth it will be worth millions.

I scored a free DVD player the other day. Sure, it has issues decoding the signal, and I'll have to take a (very small) hammer to the electronics board inside the case, but once it's set I look forward to borrowing this DVD set off a co-worker and spending a weekend wallowing in Middle-Earth. Huzzah!

I started watching one of the voiceovers, realised I ought to see the film first, and watched that. Only 4 x 3 hours of LotR to go :D

It's huge!

I watched all the specials in the first 2 days after I bought it. :D

The extended version of the film is great. It's quite clear they left out some of the important stuff to make sure that people would buy the 5-disc set. :)

There's a rumour that this edition of Fellowship doesn't have Macrovision enabled on the disc. Might make a VHS test recording of it, just for "Back-up" of course... ;)

Macrovision sux :shoot:
