View Full Version : Melting Hearts

Crap. A more corny honey dripping title would be difficult for me to think en anglais.

But this is the kind of songs I have in mind. Hopefully you'll understand.

Saint Etienne - Only love can break your heart
Alizee - Moi Lolita (French title, what can I do!)

And that's where my knowledge of that "genre" abandons me. (Using the word "genre" liberally).

Any ideas to complete a whole CD with this "kind of songs"?
I know it's on the edge of consciousness these kind of questions.

I don't get it.

Then I'll try to explain.

It is a kind of a genre of songs. They are "romantic" on the edge of veiled phantasm but stop short of being corny. They have intoxicating rythme but create it through subtlety. They have that "teen lust" feeling but none of the angst. They are dreamy and "travell-y" yet not necessairily real or knowledgable, respectively.

I think I'll just give up :)
As a general compass could be St. Etienne's song.

Yeah but I haven't heard that.

Pick any random chick flick from the last 10 years, then buy the soundtrack. Alternatively buy the Dawsons Crack or the Buffy soundtrack.

It's not the same.
Although it's close.

Nothing to do with the Buffy soundtrack BTW from what I saw on TV. Don't know who Dawsons Crack are. And it is not chick flicks. They resemble them but they are not the same.
It is dangerously close to pop though yes.
