SBs "Opus" :vom: thread made me think of it. The worst of the worst CD. Really bad, I mean, not camp, strange, lousy, freaky or something. really annoying turn-off-the-electrical-audio-device-type songs. On one CD

What should be on it?

You need a track by The Datsuns on it. I really can't believe how offensively awful they are. It's Spinal Tap with no humour.

Uncontroversial stuff is easy. Post-replacement-of-the-whole-lineup Rednex material. At least one Yes song with a colon in the title somewhere. "Walking on Sunshine" by Catarina and the Waves. John Ashcroft performing his self-penned "Let The Mighty Eagle Soar". That Nickelback song I've thankfully repressed from memory.

Now, picking stuff people'll hate me for is trickier. It's gotta include some Led Zep, definately. And some latter-day radiohead. The first track of the latest Doves album is a strong candidate as well.

If by latter-day you mean Pull/Pulk, then go for it.

I mean the kind of stuff Q readers vote in as "album of the year".

13-11-2002, 22:19:01
Like I said, go for it.

I'll second that Nickelback song, the one that goes "you've been gone, you've been gone, to the bottom of every mountain" or whatever.

The song I most passionately and violently hate out of all I've ever heard would have to be "Who let the dogs out"

Both those songs make me want to shoot random strangers in the face when I hear them singing them.

My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion
- I would drown puppies rather than listen to this fucking song.

That Don't Impress Me Much - Shania Twain
- Shania: "So you think you're Brad Pitt"

The Ballad Of Tom Jones - Space & That Bint From Catatonia
- Words can't describe how much I hate this song.

I don't like Who Let The Dogs Out much, because it's a highly gentrified and westernised version of Soca without any of the punch. But I mean, it's still Soca. Nearly.

"I will always love you" Whitney Houston, from that shit Costner film.

"rockin' all over the world" of Status Quo.

14-11-2002, 10:26:47
Ooooh... as we're coming up to Christmas. Rockin around the christmas tree. :bash:

As in the Mel and Kim version?

Anything which involves children singing.
Which includes:
Extreme - Mama don't wanna go to school today
St Winifreds school choir / Claire and Friends
Cliff Richard - Mistletoe and Wine

14-11-2002, 16:38:43
Still loving you -the scorpions.
Celine Dions entire work.
R-E-S-P-E-C-T - Aretha Franklin (heard it a zillion times to many)

Anything by James Brown.

To many people he's a legend, to me he's some old guy who goes "UNGH!" too much.

Anything that inspires people to line dance.

If you're gonna start mixing in decent stuff that's overrated/overplayed, I've got tons. "Ghost town" by the Specials being a key example.

I may like Country music but I am the biggest hater of line dancing so I also stand next to Funko. Country music doesn't inspire me to line dance

It's the same CD: "20 golden metal ballads".

Ever heard "Beth" of Kiss? Now THAT'S a bad bad bad song. Maybe not as bad as "I was made for loving you", but still VERY bad.

Most things I've heard by the Jesus and Mary Chain (surprise, surprise)
Most things I've heard by the Fugees
Most things done by any band that smile all the damned time.
