View Full Version : Free Game of the Week - Death Star Battles

Yes, I know, I know, it's another clone of a classic game. I just thought the original was obscure enough and the remake brilliant enough to warrant it.

Like Gravity Wars, this is the standard cannon-style turn-based shooting game turned into something more compelling using the lovely power of physics and matemathics. Can you hit your opponent while dodging planets, stars, wormholes, black holes and white holes, or even while constantly moving about in hyperspace? Will you need to use the power of gravity to reach your opponent with your weak projectile?

Er, "weak projectile" sounds well dodgy.

Damn I thought you were trying to appeal to the Star Wars geeks.

I don't remember the Death Star being purple.

Nor Brian Reynolds really.

Purple seems to rule your spectrum.

I like purple.

So in your world the Death Star would indeed be purple.

I always saw the Death Star as being more of a slightly sparkly emerald green, sort of like cheap metallic paint.

So only people were purple?

Hay, that was actually quite enjoyable for about 10 minutes. I thin I used to have a version on my Acorn Electron about 20 years ago.
