View Full Version : CBeast!

Technically a valid kill, since the post count was a multiple of 100.

08-10-2002, 14:36:30
0 is a multiple of 100?

08-10-2002, 14:57:58
1 is.

08-10-2002, 14:59:39
Now for a rerun of the amazing "how to count posts from quite a distance away" debate.

08-10-2002, 15:04:22
We use Florida counting.

08-10-2002, 15:06:04
I prefer New Jersey counting.

And he didn't get any points.

08-10-2002, 15:16:29
If I had posted CBeast:shoot: in my post would you have counted it?

08-10-2002, 15:19:00

08-10-2002, 15:19:26
Didnt think so.

08-10-2002, 15:20:24

08-10-2002, 15:26:38

08-10-2002, 21:14:57
0 x 100 = 0

08-10-2002, 23:32:11
0.01 x 100 = 1.

08-10-2002, 23:37:44
Only integer multiples count.

08-10-2002, 23:40:32
So -1 x 100 = -100 counts? The 100th post before a thread is started?

09-10-2002, 00:59:51
Threads never have negative post counts. They do have a post count of zero.

09-10-2002, 01:05:06
They have a reply count of zero.

09-10-2002, 01:06:11
Okay, they have a reply count of zero and never a negative reply count. My point still applies.

09-10-2002, 01:07:06
Couldn’t you speculate on the number of future replies and get a CBeast before you start the thread?

09-10-2002, 01:09:40
No because then the CBeast kill post would not be part of the thread. Mine was.

09-10-2002, 06:36:44
How do you get .5 of a CBeast? Shot it at 50?

09-10-2002, 06:59:58
No, shot it at 0. It's still under debate whether it becomes 1.

09-10-2002, 07:02:04
It's not under debate. Thread starters don't count.

09-10-2002, 07:06:39
Where does it say that?

09-10-2002, 07:10:34
Check the history of CBeasts. A CBeast is the 100th reply in a thread. There is actual discussion of what you did. It's called an I-Beast. The very first post as well as the first reply are called I-Beast, and are so common, they score no points, nor worth of mentioning. Only ridicule to the twat trying to score on them.

09-10-2002, 07:12:15
No, CBeasts are EVERY 100th reply. The 200th and 300th apply also.

09-10-2002, 07:18:02
Nope. The second CBeast is actually the 2CBeast. The 300th is the 3CBeast. the 400th is the 4CBeasts. But since so many hunters have tried to hunt the Beasties that cannot count, we just let them go on and say what they want. They are doing good to understand that two zeroes behind something makes it a CBeast multiple.

You'll notice that a few people actually keep track that they have 4 4CBeast kills. Or have a solitary 8CBeast. And there's the rare 11CBeast kill.

Under CBeast hunting terms, you do not call the 10CBeast a KBeast... as they are two different species, and wouldn't want to get them confused. Or then you'd have to suck off Ass Monkey...

09-10-2002, 07:20:20
The 10CBeast is an MBeast. Is a 2CBeast worth 2 regular CBeasts?

09-10-2002, 07:22:22
Nope. Worth 1 2C Beast. The score board keeper just liked to total them all up together... made it easier on him.

09-10-2002, 07:24:27
Okay, so the CBeast count on the score board is the total of all the different varieties of CBeast?

09-10-2002, 07:26:54
Of those that were reported and the score keeper decided to score.

And Cali or Lurker tried scoring the I Beast, and was rejected for it. I don't recall which. Probably Lurker. Sounds like something that guy would do. ;)

09-10-2002, 07:28:49
So if, for scoring purposes, all CBeasts and their subspecies are equal, then my 0CBeast should still be valid.

09-10-2002, 07:34:06
Not going to happen. Thread starters don't count. Because it's an I Beast.

Even if you suck on Dashi so long his toes turn inside out, still won't get you a point. It's an I Beast.

It's not a 0CBeast. It's just an I Beast. Those are classified as a different species. Just for schmucks like you.

The 0CBeast is Cali. Are you claiming to have shot Cali?

09-10-2002, 07:36:32
No the IBeast is the first reply in the thread. And if Cali is a CBeast he deserves to be shot.

09-10-2002, 07:41:28
Cali is the 0CBeast.

There are 2 types of IBeasts:
* The thread starter
* The first reply in the thread

Repeating yourself isn't going to change what has been decided for the rules. CBeast start at 100. Then there's the 2C Beast at 200, etc etc etc. Hell, somewhere Dashi has even stated that the first CBeast is 100. So you are screwed.

You won't even get Anti-CBeast points. But you are racking up schmuck points pretty fast. I might have to watch out, or I might get bumped from my top 10 ranking on the Schmuck Point Leaderboard here...

09-10-2002, 07:44:19
Why is the thread starter an IBeast and not a CBeast? 0 is a multiple of 1 and 100. And I see no evidence of your case law.

09-10-2002, 07:51:33
You haven't looked then.

It's that way because it's that way. It's history from someone trying to take advantage of how Dashi typed in his silly rules for our forum game.

The game isn't about MULTIPLIES of 100.

It's about spamming threads, and claiming the 100th reply space, and if another set of replies past that set of 100 replies once again adds up to 100, trying to claim that post. Repeat per set of 100 or until people get bored with the game.

There is no such thing as a MULTIPLE. It's per set of 100 replies. The thread started isn't counted at all, as the game doesn't begin until the first *reply*.

The first post in a thread isn't spam. Noone has spammed the thread. The first post is always on topic. Therefore it does not count.

Bleah. Score +5 schmuck points.

09-10-2002, 07:55:14
I'm looking at the rules DaShi has posted on the C Beast leaderboard, and I see nothing you are talking about.

09-10-2002, 07:56:46
XBeast! :shoot:

09-10-2002, 08:02:48
Because Dashi is a Schmuck. :D

Have fun. Dashi didn't make the game. He's just been kind enough to try and keep it going by playing referee and keeping the score board. CBeasts are about Spamming a thread up to 100 replies. It helped chase out the KBeasts, was a fun diversion from other things, and was a nice 'group' event for this small community.

And that's not an X Beast.

09-10-2002, 08:06:09
I'm sorry, I should've said 4XBeast. Earlier you cited DaShi as an authority on the rules of the game. Are you now saying that DaShi has no such authority?

09-10-2002, 08:11:54
Dashi is an authority on his score board. He decides what is a legitimate score that he will count and what he won't. So, if you are concerned with his Score Board, then yes, he's the authority.

If you are concerned with the actual game though... :D

Which KBeast hunt do you go by? Walrus 1 or Walrus 2? Or Ass Monkey? Or what? Each score board has been a different set of printed rules for the same game. The only thing that has changed since ACOL for KBeast hunting is that we have an easy way of telling who shot the sucker, with post ids.

This is also the sort of schmucking that kills games. It killed the KBeasts hunt at ACOL, and similar schmucking got the Ass Monkey to quit the KBeast scoring here.

The thread starter doesn't count. And neither does the first reply. It's the 100th reply which counts. All this will result in is Dashi editting his rules listing.

Have fun killing the game...

09-10-2002, 08:15:51
I'm not trying to kill the game, and if DaShi wants to edit the rules he is free to do so. In any case, if I am going by the rules of the scoreboard then the rules of the scoreboard say nothing about the CBeasts starting at the 100th post.

09-10-2002, 13:21:02
Rules are simple. 1 point per beast. Beast must be claimed by name. Simply posting in the Cbeasts habitat isn't enough. You've got to kill the critter: Cbeast! :shoot:

The Cbeast's habitat is the 100th reply to a thread and each consecutive 100th reply to that thread.

09-10-2002, 13:35:48
I bet it would piss TV4fun off mightily if I got the CBeast in this thread.:D

09-10-2002, 13:39:22
Fat chance

09-10-2002, 13:40:22
We shall see.:smoke:
