Have any of you lovely people heard this "new" Nirvana track yet?

What do you think?

I think it's pretty good.

I heard it before I was supposed to actually. A couple of local radio stations were playing it before they were supposed to. They had to quit playing it. Then a few days later, they got the okay to play after all.

It's not bad.

I haven't heard it. If anyone has it on mp3 can they send me it?

08-10-2002, 08:57:54
but wouldn't that be illegal?

Oh yeah, forget I said anything. I wouldn't want to deprive Courtney Love of her hard earned money.

I heard a live version, a few years ago already actually. The quality of the recording is crap, so I'd like to hear a decently recorded version of it. It sounded promising, though.

I'll mail it to you funkster, check Loudmedicine email in a while...

It's the proper quality version. If anyone else wants it they can PM me.

Great, I'll get it when I get home. Thanks.

I like it. It has the "In Utero" feel, so I presume it was recorded around that time.

08-10-2002, 15:36:18
Yep, recorded during the same sessions as half of In Utero apparently.

08-10-2002, 15:41:16
I thought it was after that. The piece I read said it was recorded only a few months before his death.

08-10-2002, 15:49:18
I remember hearing that there are several unreleased songs from Nirvana that were recorded during this time. Is this true? Will there be more of these released soon?

09-10-2002, 08:43:01
I think it's OK but it's certainly not one of their best tracks. A bit disappointing really.

It was recorded after In Utero, but I don't think any other unreleased songs were recorded at the time. Not 100 % sure though.

I'd like to check out the song, but there are a few problems. My hotmail address doesn't accept attachments that large, and I won't have access to a computer with actual sound until the weekend.

Apparently, no one or hardly anyone knows for sure what they did and did not record at that time. Check out the bottom of this link for more info:

Ok, definitive answer from Mr Grohl....

"Grohl also told NME.COM how ‘You Know You’re Right’ was recorded – and revealed that he had not even heard it for five years after that. "It was recorded in a studio in Seattle called Robert Lang’s, right down the street from my house," he said. "Nirvana had some time off in-between tours and we stopped down there to maybe demo some shit and that was the only thing we did. It was in early '94, a couple of months before Kurt died."

I heard it at Funko's last night. I thought it was just another modern "nu metal" band.

Do you think he blew his head off because his creativity went out the window?

I guess his brains did. har har har.
