Cheers Laz.

In theory, "Open heart zoo" should be a terrible album.

it veers close to over-production at times but has enough humanity to pull it off.

with Grech pouring his heart into it "Open heart zoo" becomes spellbinding.

Right, there’s my review. Only I’d spell ‘Notorious’ correctly.

This sounds quite intriguing...

I missed a (pre-hype) Datsuns concert over the summer. Since Laz obviously can't distinguish between reasonable quality and hype, is that like missing The Strokes before they were famous (which I did last summer), or are they just as boring as The Vines?

Interesting. The Vines are a great mixture of great grunge with masses of sly musical references, a great knack for song writing and good energy and have produced an interesting and varied album.

The Strokes play one chord repeatedly under some mildly varied lyrics and nothing they've done since the initial EP has been in any way interesting.

I've only heard one Datsuns song but it combined the garage rock thing with 80s guitar solos. Interesting.

The Datsuns are laughably and offensively awful.

I liked the solo.

The Datsuns song I heard sounded almost like metallica but without everything that made metallica good. Urgh.
