The two best soundtracks are clearly Spinal Tap and Transformers the Movie but what's the next best film soundtrack?

Philistein.

It is the greatest film about the Reggae music industry ever made! i.e. the great soundtrack.

(did you not watch I love Jamaica??

Nope, but that was a joke anyway.

Predictable but Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown are both good.

I quite like the High Fidelity soundtrack, but I have to say Dirty Harry. Awesome avant-jazz-mostly-silence-bullshit.

Dirty Harry OST is excellent.

If you like "avant-jazz-mostly-silence-bullshit" try the Taxi Driver OST, again quality.

The Graduate soundtrack album is also good.

Are we talking "Cash-in soundtrack" or "Original score"?

For original score I'll go with the Vangelis Score to "Bladerunner. For soundtrack- "Kids".

Wow, can you buy the soundtrack to Kids?

*fires up Amazon*

Doesn't really matter if you can buy it or not for the purposes of this thread.

Yup. It's mostly by The Folk Implosion.

LOL, Mostly by The Folk Implosion except for one song which is by.... Sebadoh.

There's also two songs by Daniel Johnston, one by Slint and one by another band I've never heard of.

That's another great one, though I preferred "A Fistful of dollars".

Starwars - yeah groan all you like but the Skywalker theme gets me going every time I hear it.
Taxi Driver?
Godfather?
Trainspotting?
I really like the theme from The Unholy too.
