I don't really like the genre but Coldplay are a lot better than some of the bands out there.

To be fair, what I've heard of the latest album is much better than their first.

And at least they aren't Toploader.

Or Super Furry Animals.

Super Furry Animals aren't offensively bad like Toploader, they just aren't my bag.

Yeah, Coldplay are just enough to have you bring the razors out...I've never known what to make of Toploader (crap would be one thing), but I am sure they are loved by fishwives everywhere

09-09-2002, 23:54:49
I'd rather listen to a Toploader album than Stereophonics album. At least Toploader have a sort of upbeat, summery feel to them, Stereophonics are just plain shit.

Does anyone think Toploader are the new Dodgy?

10-09-2002, 01:10:10
idk Toploader, but i like Stereophonics..... got 2 cds of them

10-09-2002, 05:40:55
Dodgy! That brings back memories, man I loved them. Still think Free Peace Sweet is a great album.

Stereophonics early albums were amazing, and still are now

I've got the first two Stereophonics albums. I like the first one best. Had some good times in Cardiff and Swansea when they were out, it's a nostalgia thing.

10-09-2002, 08:35:13
It's a great musical taste thing!

10-09-2002, 08:38:18
OK. :D

Stereophonics made a couple of good songs ("Local boy in the photograph") then went very poor.

10-09-2002, 19:11:17
Nope, you are wrong. CHANGE YOUR OPINIONS NOW! It was all good until that J.E.E.t.P album. I especially liked the bonus track on #10 of Performance and Coctails.

Yes, I quite liked the first two albums by Stereophonics but nothing I heard of JEEP was really any good, and as for that Rod Stewart cover, bleh!

That's my favourite. And 100 Trees for dancing like a crazy man in Metros, Cardiff with a load of loud drunk Welsh girls reasons.

Ah yes, now you reminded me of that song (1000 Trees) being played in 5th Ave. when I was in Manchester...

10-09-2002, 23:06:52
I'm sure I typed 3 0s.

11-09-2002, 02:05:06
yeah i agree, 1000 Trees is great..... the truth is, my first really good chat friend was from Uk and he told me i should get the cd... and then sent it to me....... so in actuallity it just has good memories.... always makes me smile when i listen to that cd :)

awwwwww....... i'm gonna cry.. its just too sweet a thing to think about

11-09-2002, 02:10:24
Seen them in concert a few times and Thousand Trees always gets the best response!

11-09-2002, 02:15:29

You've been to Metro's, Mike? I've probably snogged you.

11-09-2002, 15:17:55
Probably. :D
Every time I went out in Cardiff we ended up there I think. Reminds me of the After Dark.

I pulled more often there than anywhere else. Sadly that ended when I married the last one.

I'd have thought you'd be a Bogiez man. It's OK but I've been there twice and got into fights both times.

11-09-2002, 19:19:06
It really is the Cardiff After Dark. I've never heard of Bogiez but Metros was where my friends who lived in Cardiff went. I thought it was great. Nice atmosphere. Get drunk, dance like a twat, no hassle.

Bogiez is the rock club.

11-09-2002, 19:30:57
I like the atmosphere better in the alternative ones. And probably the music too.

Provost Harrison
11-09-2002, 19:42:13
So are there any decent alternative clubs in Bristol then Laz? And do you ever get the chance to go to them? :D

11-09-2002, 19:44:33
get down cosies - then you can have a smoke and listen to some badoff jungle, hip-hop and reggae :smoke:

That sounds like a fate worse than death, moggy :p
