I am so glad to confess that I've only heard three of these songs.

I was gladdened to see Ani DiFranco as I thought we'd have no common ground at all.

I don’t understand playlists like that. It’s all about the album, listening to it all the way through, even if most of it is filler.

I generally don't listen to music non-stop at work, primarily because I frequently end up getting up to go chat with a coworker, and sometimes when I come back I end up not putting the headphones back on, oddly enough. So if I'm in the office a full 8 hours, I probably only listen to 4 hours of music on an average day. Sometimes I become Super Duper Music Woman, though, in which case I have it on repeat.

And, uh, no. It's not all about the album. Well, maybe it is for you, Sean, but it isn't for me, with rare exceptions. I will listen to an album all the way through, in order, yes, but generally unless an album is seriously themed, I won't do it regularly. (e.g., Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime? Yes. Tori Amos? Probably not. Soundtrack albums? Almost never.) More likely, if I'm going to listen to just one artist at a time -- a rare thing barring a new CD for me -- I'll still stick it on shuffle at the very least.

Also, of the songs on that list, nearly all of them come off albums where I don't necessarily like everything on the album, or where I may like everything but I only am in the mood for one or two songs.

-- Kory (Which is probably way more than anyone cared about, but that's what you get.)
