For the PS2

Which is better?

I just bought Unreal Tournament and that seems cool.

Not played either on the PS2, but I enjoy Unreal: Tournament more on the PC.

From my limited experience, UT is way better. Bots that think well and it's less arcade looking too.

the pc UT is way better

I liked Quake3 on the pc for a while, but got bored of it eventually. It is extremely arcadey though and very fast, you don't really have to think. If you don't like the bots, play on line.

I've never played Unreal Tournament, but I did play Unreal, which I didn't like that much.

But hey, that's on the PC, I've not tried either on a PS2

Quake 3 has the best engine for online gaming by far.

Quake 3 was pretty fun on the Dreamcast, and that is the sum of my console experience of those two.

Matt: Pity it's such a crap game then:p

Sure, UT is great, if you like your gaming sterilised and homogenised.

Sure, Quake is great, if your idea of intellgent bots is just opponents that get more accurate with the rail gun at higher levels.

Eh? They are multi-player games, Shining. You are supposed to play them with other people.

good luck playing multiplayer on your ps2 then

Well, I played four-player Quake 3 on the Dreamcast, so why not?

Sean: Why does a QuakeIII server report its bots as 'players' then?:D

Damn beer.

I thought the Q3 bots were pretty impressive actually, more interesting to play against than most AI enemies in most FPS games.
Sony is launching it's online gaming kit later this year I understand.
