Are there any books, movies, etc. that you'd like to see a game based on?

One that springs to mind, since I am currently reading the series again, woulb be an RPG based on Gene Wolfe's books about Severian, the Torturer.
Actually, several Sci Fi books would make good games...how about a party based RPG taken from Philip Jose' Farmer's "Riverworld" series? Find the source of the river, etc.

Any you can think of?

A game where you shoot deer would be pretty cool...:D

Nah, a game where you're the deer, and you shoot the hunters.

Now, that would be original.

Rockstar has some great concepts like GTA3 and State of Emergency. And way back in '97, there was Postal. I think a rampage game is the way to go.

What was the arcade game where you rampaged as giant monsters?

Own fucking goal.

"Rampage"

The new title should be called "Antisocial." :)

That was a major own goal...damn.
Ha ha....pays not to ask questions around here, doesn't it?

Rampage wasn't nearly as good as 'Mail Order Monsters.'

Damn. Maybe it's the initials... MoMs are just great. :D

Someone was making a port of the old 68000 game (It ran on Atari 4/800 and C64s and Macintoshs using character block graphics). But that port never quite showed up.

I remember MoM, just forgot the name. Cool game. Building the monsters was way more fun than the actual fighting, but you had to fight to build a better monster.

Maybe a game based on the movie Falling Down (Michael Douglas?) if you're looking for a rampage.

i read this recently - best SF book i ever read (think i'll write a review actually...)

anyway going off topic...

i'd love to see a decent judge dredd game - actually any decent 2000ad licence would be cool

KG-- I'm on book two and feel there is a pretty big drop off in quality from the first book. He seems to be a bit more psychedelic, inserting more bizarre terminology, plays, etc....but I'm hoping the next one is back to old form.

KG you are banned for mentioning Judge Dredd.

Because of the movie, I hope...the comics were good.

Stallone, as Judge Dread. ROTFLMAO!

Shining1

The movie was absolutely crap compared to the comics.

FIRSTLY, JUDGE DREDD NEVER TAKES HIS HELMET OFF!

Secondly, all the lead actors were crap hasbeens who didn't understand the 2000AD ethos at all.

Stupid scumsucking motherdrokkers.

Were you really unaware of this?

Riverworld site (http://riverworldtv.tripod.com/)
including links to
GURPS book (http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/books/riverworld/) (I saw sites for playing this pbem, although without a true RPG PC game support)

There's also a
real-time PC game, published in 98 by Cryo Interactive.
The company's site (http://www.cryo-interactive.com) is hardly helpful (no search or old games listing!), but you can find a couple of reviews
Games Domain (http://www.gamesdomain.com/gdreview/zones/reviews/pc/dec98/river.html)
Game Over (http://www.game-over.net/review/october/river/)

Not worth bothering at all, apparently.
I just found it for ~5$ in a bargain bin.... I could tell from the snapshots that even that would be too much.
Besides, the requirements list a... P90!

Found another site (http://www.cdaccess.com/html/pc/riverwld.htm) with a pretty clear description (not review) still quoting it a totally crazy 25$!
