At LSN, apparently he timed out, I don't even remember that we had a game...

That way I beat PB

29-07-2002, 09:11:37
I beat PB like that as well.

I'd have more losses than wins if people didn't keep timing out.

Several of my recent wins have been because my opponents timed out. Very disappointing.

They need some sort of messaging system so that you can ping people to find out if they ever got the turns or if they're just too busy to play them. I've had several turn files get lost and have gotten into the habit of resending and requesting last results of any game that doesn't progress after a day or two.

Of course, I've only got two current games, so that's not as time consuming a habit as it might have been a month or so ago.

And you'll have beaten me very shortly.

That assault went way better than I had any right to expect. :)

29-07-2002, 17:19:19
It was about how I thought. I didn't have any normal troops left.

29-07-2002, 18:19:51
True, but I didn't expect your missile tanks and HQ's to be that worn down already. Having seen your AI doing some repair work, I thought they were closer to full strength. I felt a bit like those Rebel troops in The Empire Strikes Back who charged at the AT-AT that had just fallen over only to have it explode into a million pieces at the first shot.

Mind you, I'm not complaining. :)

29-07-2002, 18:22:45
You can't repair HQs. :(

I blew my own missile tanks up clearing the tree line

29-07-2002, 18:32:39
Ah, hadn't thought of that. Mechs seem to be rather disadvantaged to me, even though they almost always are able to get early leads. Their heavy hitters are too expensive and too vulnerable. Once you've bought your force, there usually isn't too much room for flexibility, you're stuck into a strategy. Marines are much more adaptable. The only place I like Mechs is in real tight quarters where they can't get plunked at by snipers.

29-07-2002, 19:05:29
Yeah... I thought I'd try them on that level but I didn't have the field of fire I'd expected. Oh well.

I just beat Shiny on a time out as well!

30-07-2002, 13:09:44
Well done!

30-07-2002, 13:11:18
I should start more games with people who don't play anymore. :D

30-07-2002, 13:12:32
You're really kicking ass and taking names Funko.

31-07-2002, 12:01:03
Well, he was, anyway. :)

Congratulations, you have beaten Funkodrom.

How many of those 8 wins were against me? At least 4.

31-07-2002, 13:14:02
I'm not sure. I've played a few league games against Shakey, and one or two against random people, but yes, I think the majority were against you. Most of my friendly wins were against Vincent when we were playing around with various goofy teams (all grunts vs. all grenadiers, etc.)

It feels like I've played a lot more than 19 games, but I guess not.

My stats are only impressive if you look at nothing but the percentages. :)

31-07-2002, 13:16:10
I always seem to end up as mechs against you or versus mechs and I'm crap in both situations.

31-07-2002, 14:23:55
Well, quit it!

31-07-2002, 14:34:06
Or learn how to use/fight mechs.

31-07-2002, 15:46:26
That's what I'm trying to do.

Actually he beat me last time we had marine vs marine too. :D

31-07-2002, 16:49:40
I'll trade you, you can be marines against my mechs next time 'round. You pick the map.

31-07-2002, 21:34:27
What and get rid of all my excuses? :)

No longer Trippin

So that's what you call your dick?
