Hot tip. I was introduced to this bunch by a friend who works with them, and they're incredible. They sent me a copy of their debut album (no record deal yet), and if any of you like My Bloody Valentine/Flying Saucer Attack noise then you'll love this.

They're all really young and Canadian, and they're doing something really special.

Is this them? I did a quick search:

I'm listening to them now.

I can see why you like them after listening to the stuff on that CD you sent. Very atmospheric, moody. Not the kind of thing I listen too all that much but I agree that they are very, very good. I love the way they layer their sounds.

That's them. Some A&R bloke should snap them up and make a fortune. "Ace faced on the scene" is my favourite.

The guy who wrote their website (Kevin Scott) has been exchanging CD's with me for years. We keep trying to freak each other out with our latest discoveries.

They're good, I was listening to their tracks all day at work.

Am I missing something, or does Sexy Motion sounds like a really boring Super Furry Animals track?

19-07-2002, 12:37:55
That's a tortology isn't it?

19-07-2002, 15:00:22

it's tautology anyway smartass

Ice Hockey Hair is great.

herman loves pauline

Karate sounds like a vintage Pulp tribute band. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

Sexy Motion sounds like that same Pulp tribute band trying to cover Spiritulised Electric Mainline.

Treasure Vision sounds exactly (and I mean EXACTLY) like Ride. These guys could just possibly be my new favourite band.

Doubt thats gonna happen. Unfortunately it's all a bit too summer of '92, sounds a little dated now.

Having said that I would really like to get hold of a copy of that debut album, any ideas how i could do that? This kind of thing makes me come over all misty eyed. I feel like digging out some rose tinted round sunglasses and sitting in a field somewhere smoking shitty hash.

Now where did I put that Family Cat album.......

I'll see if they're selling any yet. This may involve some degree of dicking about in foreign currencies but I'll check what they'll take.

I've got an address, and he says he'll ship them for 7.00 which includes packaging. I'll PM you the address. The guy's reliable- I've been dealing with him for years.

Oh yes. The Family Cat were fab. I was belting out "Tom Verlaine" on my way to the Co-op this morning.

See how I try and take some of the credit from Laz's recommendation? I'm so sly.
