Hmmm. Well. I've bought surprisingly few new albums this year. Kent's "Vapen och Ammunition" is the only one I can remember off-hand. Which is slightly disturbing, really, considering the amount I bought last year. Still, most of those were in the second half of the year...

Next Buy: Both of Bounty Killer's "Ghetto Dictionary" Albums. What I've heard off them is excellent, and reviews suggest he keeps a good pace over a total of 40 songs, something I just have to hear to believe.

Hundred Reasons is the only one I can remember buying this year that was released this year. The Vines is good too, haven't listened to that enough for it to be album of the year.

I've been too busy trying not to spend money to buy new CDs.

Tanya Donnelly has a new one out? Cool! I'll second that one without even having heard it, she's awesome!

Tom Waits gets a vote as well just on principle.

As for any of my own nominations, I haven't bought any new releases at all this year, though I'll probably be looking for Tanya's now.

It's really good. I thought some of her solo stuff was patchy, but this one is very strong.

One of the tracks features what must be the last vocal the Mark Sandman of Morphine recorded before he died. I was a huge Morphine fan so that made this one essential.

Well buy one of my picks. If you don't like them I'll hire kids to wash your car, or something.

I don't have a car,
If I buy one of the albums will you buy me one and I'll wash it myself?

The Parkinsons - long way to nowhere ep, gets my vote by a country mile

Black Rebel motorcycle club - very very good

I liked Cooper Temple Clause a lot too, but i didn't think it was consistent enough for an album of the year slot.

Only bought the Vines album this weekend but from what i've heard so far it will be up there come the end of the year.

Yes, I'll second The Vines.
