Are we all still up for this? I've got my CD about two-thirds finished already, and I've even managed to limit the cheesy pop-punk down to one token song... :)

Sean, did you get my e-mail?

Sean
05-07-2002, 20:55:54
Yes, both of them.

Er, I had a tracklist when we first suggested this. I’ll see what I can rustle up over the weekend.

I hope you have the sense to avoid rap and UK garage. :)

But then you don't really strike me as one of the homies...

Sean
05-07-2002, 20:59:41
.

I mean, damn, you got me. Now I will have to think of something else.

*End Is Forever*
05-07-2002, 21:12:25
I'm even designing a nifty CD cover and a label for the CDs themselves. You and Mike should feel honoured... :)

Sean
05-07-2002, 21:16:06
I might give that a go.

Once I finish the track listing :nervous:.

Sean
05-07-2002, 21:24:10
Now I need a how to pace a CD howto :D.

*End Is Forever*
05-07-2002, 21:26:45
I've got 19 tracks so far, totalling just under 60 minutes, shortest track 45 seconds or so, longest track almost 5 minutes...

Sean
05-07-2002, 21:27:53
I have 9 tracks totalling just under 60 minutes. Shortest track (by some distance) 2:07 :bounce:.

*End Is Forever*
05-07-2002, 21:28:27
Yeah... I've got the first four tracks or so in an order I'm happy with, and I've settled on the two closing tracks, but the rest I've got pretty much no idea how to order for maximum effect...

*End Is Forever*
05-07-2002, 21:29:31
Shit... quite a contrast. :smoke:

This should be amusing at the very least... :)

Sean
05-07-2002, 21:34:58
I only have the first and last tracks sorted. The rest are all replaceable.

Sean
05-07-2002, 21:42:35
I think it’s too quiet ATM. And over half of it is instrumental.

Modern technology...

Everyone can be someone

Sean
05-07-2002, 22:43:08
Right. We don’t have to provide a track list, do we?

*End Is Forever*
05-07-2002, 22:54:44
In the first one, Snapcase listed the titles on his CD, Mike didn't; I'm going to follow the latter route.

Sean
05-07-2002, 22:58:08
Ditto, then. The names give some of them away.

*End Is Forever*
05-07-2002, 23:24:51
Wonder what Mike's got planned for his. Probably forgotten completely. :)

Sean
05-07-2002, 23:25:49
I can’t find a CD with one of the tracks on it :(.

*End Is Forever*
05-07-2002, 23:45:11
Use an mp3... I'll probably barely notice.

Funkodrom
08-07-2002, 08:35:10
Am I supposed to be making a CD too? You two might be better off doing it as a 2 way thing, I really haven't got that much time at the moment. Too much band stuff going on.

Funkodrom
08-07-2002, 08:39:01
I would like to do one however... let's see if I can find time one evening this week. I have no idea what to put on it for you guys. A lot of hip-hop for Iain obviously.

*End Is Forever*
08-07-2002, 18:28:09

Well if you're pushed for time but still want to make one, I'll just send this one to Sean and we can both review yours as well. Or alternatively I could send mine to you anyway to improve your music collection even if you aren't writing an article... :p

Sean
08-07-2002, 18:46:43
Well, there is a bit of a problem here, because I am going away for ten days (something like that) the day after the Unholy gig, which is presumably when Mike will have more time :clueless:.

Do what you can, Mikey. I should be mailing CDs out tomorrow—email me with your address if you are participating, Mike.

This is a lie. The shortest track now is 3:21….

*End Is Forever*
08-07-2002, 19:06:13
Well... there's no rush. The articles will have to be staggered anyway - if Mike has time to write one in two weeks' time then so be it. Not really a big problem if there's a couple of weeks between the articles... :)

Sean
08-07-2002, 19:07:39
Yeah, I guess so. So, you will do your reviews at the end of July, Mike a week later, and me a week after that?

*End Is Forever*
08-07-2002, 19:10:37
Well I'm twiddling my thumbs at the moment so I can do the reviews as soon as I receive the CDs... but as I said if you want my CD I'm gonna need an address to send it to. :)

Sean
08-07-2002, 19:17:17
I sent the email to your Yahoo address—should it go to your Uni one, even out of term?

*End Is Forever*
08-07-2002, 19:19:19
Oh, okay... yeah I can access the York IMAP server from home. Only check my Yahoo one every few days... will get it now. Cheers. :)

*End Is Forever*
08-07-2002, 19:28:30
Er... could you send it again to my York address? I just deleted it by accident... :o

Sean
08-07-2002, 19:31:58
Done  :p.

Funkodrom
08-07-2002, 19:47:00
I can do reviews at work. Making the CD will be the hard bit. If we are reviewing one cd at a time then I can send mine out last and still join in your ones.

Sean
08-07-2002, 19:48:26
OK, that sounds good. Like I said, I should be ready to post tomorrow. Any advice on packaging?

*End Is Forever*
08-07-2002, 19:52:05
The review of Mike's CD can wait until after you get back then Sean... I think. Your CD will then be the first article, mine the second, Mike's the third.

*End Is Forever*
08-07-2002, 19:53:39
You mean fancy presentation or "how to send CDs in the post without them being split into a million pieces"?

Sean
08-07-2002, 19:56:52
The latter.

*End Is Forever*
08-07-2002, 20:01:03
I think bubble wrap is called for... :smoke:

You can get roughtly CD-sized envelopes with bubble-wrap lining, I've had CDs sent to me in them before...

Lazarus and the Gimp
08-07-2002, 20:08:29
By the postal CD fairy?

I buy them in W H Smiths. They're about 30p each.

Sean
08-07-2002, 20:10:01
30p for an envelope and a bit of bubble wrap?! Extortionate!

Lazarus and the Gimp
08-07-2002, 20:12:25
In that case just chuck the CD in a couple of old socks then wrap bogroll and sellotape round it.

I should get my act together and do one of these- unless of course everyone's still too traumatised by the Throbbing Gristle I put on the last one.

Funkodrom
08-07-2002, 20:51:08
I'd love another Laz CD. The last one was great. I played it to Debaser the other day.

You know too much about music. It'd have to be against someone who only litsened to Happy Hardcore and Korean Boy-Band Pop.

I'm hoping for your participation in the LWP3 project, though (see separate thread).

I can do a CD full of one of those. Guess which.

I think I’ve been really nice with this CD, though. It’s very inoffensive, and I didn’t even find a space for a Gabba track.

Funkodrom
08-07-2002, 21:52:09
Damn... I'd have loved a Gabba track.

Sean
08-07-2002, 21:52:52
No metal, either :(. The more I think about it, the worse it is.

Sean
12-07-2002, 22:40:38
Funkodrom, if you want this CD I need an address. For some reason I thought posting them all at once would save time.

Funkodrom
13-07-2002, 10:19:32
I sent you it via the handy CG e-mail system

Sean
13-07-2002, 10:34:24
And I got it before I looked at the forums. See how handy the email system is.

Funkodrom
13-07-2002, 10:45:25
Handy for you, mine points at an e-mail I never look at. :D

On 'Poly mine points at an e-mail that doesn't even exist any more... :cute:
