I can't think of anything to write about.

Give me items* to put in a story, one item allowed per poster. I'll use as many as I can.

*Items eg. A character name, a job, a situation, a location, an object

hmm...the temptation to write 'double-ended-dildo' is very strong.

How about a location - a ship

Funkodrom
03-07-2002, 14:14:31
I might just have to use both those. :D

A man who sells photographs of waves.

, there's always a place for a 'double-ended-dildo' in any good story.

Evil Eric, "plumber", the wrong address, a meusium, a power-drill.

Funkodrom
03-07-2002, 14:22:34
Hmm... interesting.

Sean
03-07-2002, 14:27:10
Get to it, then.

Funkodrom
03-07-2002, 14:47:50
I will.

FunkyFingers
03-07-2002, 15:12:35
Here are two things for you.

butt.

plug.

Funkodrom
03-07-2002, 15:16:23
Two very different items.

FunkyFingers
03-07-2002, 15:28:09
they are indeed two very different items, which combined, can create a third item. interesting...

Funkodrom
03-07-2002, 18:57:54
Now can someone suggest a plot? :nervous:

Sean
03-07-2002, 19:18:37
Using which story elements?

Funkodrom
03-07-2002, 19:21:06
I wasn't really serious, if you think of the plot you might as well write it yourself. :D

An unhappy sperm whale named "Dick."

Pirates on the high seas.

Funkodrom
03-07-2002, 22:26:17
Interesting...

OK, I think I can work with this stuff. Cheers!

There's got to be a volupturous, deadly blonde in there somewhere, hasn't there?

Funkodrom
04-07-2002, 08:23:16
OK... to summarise...

Double ended dildo
A ship
A man who sells photographs of waves
Evil Eric
"Plumber"
The wrong address
A museum
A power-drill.
A butt
A plug
An unhappy sperm whale named Dick.
Pirates on the high seas and
A voluptuous deadly blonde.

OK, that's it inspiring time is over, otherwise I'll never get them all in.

Funny how many sea related aspect there are, because of King_G's original suggestion I wonder?

FunkyFingers
04-07-2002, 08:28:51
Seamen

King_Ghidra

Frankly 'Funko', all you have there are the elements for a porn film.

Maybe you should filter them so you can write something worthwhile...

I think i must have suggested the ship subconsciously as a result of my recent avatar change :)
I think you're right though, it turned into word association after that :D

Funkodrom
04-07-2002, 08:41:22
It's just the way your mind works, I wasn't thinking about a porn film at all. :D

Well, yes. I was trying not to make you have to tie in camels, darkest Peru, and the proliferation of sporting venues.

Funkodrom
04-07-2002, 11:08:48
That would have been more fun. :D

Sean

Then do that one, then. I have this theory that stadia are actually slow-moving lifeforms. How else do you explain their presence in places like Mali, only to mysteriously turn up in Korea later in the year?

Funkodrom
04-07-2002, 11:21:00
You get good weed in the Midlands then?

Sean
04-07-2002, 11:21:54
I swear it was the exact same stadium in the African Nations Cup final as one of the ones in the World Cup.

Funkodrom

Do you feel like you need to go and buy chocolate?

FunkyFingers
04-07-2002, 14:12:06
Stadia are the Earth equivalent of the Culture General Systems Vehicles.

Sean
04-07-2002, 14:14:55
No they aren’t.

FunkyFingers
04-07-2002, 14:19:22
Yes they are. Prove me wrong.

Sean
04-07-2002, 14:20:50
You made the statement and so have the burden of proof.

FunkyFingers
04-07-2002, 14:30:55
You made the contradictory prosecution statement and so have to argue effectively your opposing opinion.

Funkodrom
04-07-2002, 14:39:40
Stadia can't make other stadia.

walruskkkch
05-07-2002, 18:13:12
Sure they can, just ply them with alcohol...

*End Is Forever*
05-07-2002, 19:40:01
You wouldn't believe what stadia get up to when they're drunk...

Sean
05-07-2002, 19:40:53
Especially in Manchester.

walruskkkch
05-07-2002, 20:46:40
You'll be up to your ass in little stadia in no time at all.

Didn't get chance to write anything at the weekend... possibly this week, 'cause I've got band practices all next weekend as well.

I suppose that I could make a snide remark about a certain medieval/magic setting with dragons, valkyrie, wizards, and a firey demonic Emperor on the verge of starting a great war while a prophisied hero makes his return and the rain that never ends being somewhat inspiring for story writing, but then that might be considered a cheap shot by some, so I'll refrain from bringing it up.

;)

OK Funkoramous, what is your excuse now, eh?
You have been home sick all week. You have always said that you write better when you feel miserable.
Let's get on with it.
:)

It took me a while to realise what story you were talking about, it certainly sounded good!

Did we ever post what we had of that here?

Yeah, but I don't write better when I can't concentrate for more than 5 minutes. :( Miserable is different to sick. Anyway I like not being miserable even if it means I can't write shit.

It has been awhile. :)

No, I don't believe that was ever posted here, though I think you stuck it on a web page somewhere and linked it to ACOL at one point.

I wouldn't mind getting that one rolling again, a lot of potential there, if there's still any interest.

Yes. I'm much too busy at the moment but I could do it after I get back from New Zealand maybe. It was a good story.

Guy

Sounds good to me, having re-read it just now I'm anxious to find out what happens next (which is a weird way to feel about something you're helping to write).

It's been very hard finding time to write lately, though. It's very frustrating because the ideas are flowing at the moment, too. There never seems to be enough time for everything I want to do. Ah well, better than the alternative, I suppose.

It was good would be good to get it going.

Funny, I was going to post something... still interested?

I finally got a handle on Lady Swan's challenge...
