Just read Peter F. Hamilton's latest book.

Spellbinding science fiction. Not in quite the same universe as his Mindstar series or the six book space opera series that started with Reality Disfunction. Worthwhile nonetheless. I would rate it as his best effort so far.

My guess is that you mean the Reality Disfunction series because Fallen Dragon wasn't much over 600 pages.

Quite often they will split up novels or series when they get to paperback. For the last series I read the paperbacks.

Noisy, so the book hasn't come out in the UK first? First printing is March 2002 over here.

It's out in hardback, but not paperback.

Question: What exactly is a space opera? Is it like la Boheme, but in space?

Non pił andrai, farfallone amoroso,
Notte e giorno d'intorno girando,
Delle belle turbando il riposo,
Narcisetto, Adoncino d'amor.
Non piu avrai questi bei penacchini,
Quel cappello leggiero e galante,
Quella chioma, quell'aria brillante,
Quel vermiglio donnesco color!
Fra guerrieri, poffar Bacco!
Gran mustacchi, stretto sacco,
Schioppo in spalla, sciabla al fianco,
Collo dritto, muso franco,
Un gran casco, o un gran turbante,
Molto onor, poco contante.
Ed in vece del fandango
Una marcia per il fango.
Per montagne, per valloni,
Con le nevi, e i solioni,
Al concerto di tromboni,
Di bombarde, di cannoni,
Che le palle in tutti i tuoni,
All'orecchio fan fischiar.
Cherubino, alla vittoria!
Alla gloria militar!

Yes, I did mean the Night’s Dawn Trilogy/series. I have them all (three) in paperback, at about 1200 pages each.
