:D

I'd do one if I had a CD-Writer. :)

Funkodrom
12-06-2002, 11:41:54
Couldn't you borrow Snappy's?

I suppose I could sit in his room for an hour with my CDs and whatever mp3 software still works. :)

Snapcase
12-06-2002, 14:47:58
Sure, you're welcome to it. I'd have to clean up my room first though... ;)

Funkodrom
12-06-2002, 14:55:51
Cool...

Please bear in mind that there is like a week and a half before I leave the country until October though.

Funkodrom
12-06-2002, 15:26:19
So you'll need to be quick then.

Snapcase
12-06-2002, 15:35:08
Yes. Who'll be the other person?

Funkodrom
12-06-2002, 15:40:56
I assumed you?

Snapcase
12-06-2002, 15:45:09
Me??? I can't do a CD for Iain. That'd be... weird.

Sean
12-06-2002, 16:41:51
I could do one, but I doubt my music-reviewing skillz are up to it.

Snapcase
12-06-2002, 16:51:49
I'd love to see an Iain-Sean LWP. That'd be class. :D

Sean
12-06-2002, 16:56:42
Actually, I have some really good tracks in mind now.

Funkodrom
12-06-2002, 17:54:15
Sounds great to me! Be totally different music as well...

Sean
12-06-2002, 17:58:31
:gasmaske:. I am thinking of putting some tracks that even I don’t like on it.

Funkodrom
12-06-2002, 18:22:36

Sounds good... could send Mike a copy too. Maybe we could do a three-way one - would be interesting to get two different perspectives on the same songs I think. :gotit:

I'm down in London again a week Saturday (22nd), could meet up for a pint at some point?

13-06-2002, 14:26:37
Could work quite easily

---

Person 1's comments on song

Person 2's comments on song

CD Composers' comments on song

---

Would give three new articles too instead of two...

Comments?

Funkodrom
13-06-2002, 14:55:58
Interesting...

I'm at Funky's stag do on the 22nd.

13-06-2002, 15:04:08
Will have to mail them then, if we're going to do that. Me, you, Sean... worth doing?

Funkodrom
13-06-2002, 15:13:17
I'd do it... So what Sean does the CD and we both review it then get his comments? 3 CDs would seem a little extreme..

*End Is Forever*
13-06-2002, 15:16:12
Well, I'm quite up for making a CD... two CDs, three reviewers, with you merely a "reviewer"? Possible?

Funkodrom
13-06-2002, 15:20:21
Sure... I could do a CD as well but that would be three massive articles.

*End Is Forever*
13-06-2002, 15:29:51
They'd be longer articles, but it wouldn't actually take any longer to write and compile them...

Funkodrom
13-06-2002, 15:39:08
No but we'd be stretching how long anyone would read...

*End Is Forever*
13-06-2002, 15:41:52
I don't think so... anyone who's interested will read it all, and anyone that isn't won't read it anyway. We could always limit the number of songs to, say, 15, if it worries you that much...

Besides, the articles would be the same length whether there were 2 CDs or 3, it's just there'd be one extra article.

Snapcase
13-06-2002, 15:45:28
I'd be up for a fourway, which would lead to a total of six articles... Er, perhaps not.

*End Is Forever*
13-06-2002, 15:52:14
No... nine articles. A threeway would lead to six, now I think about it

Mike's review of mine and Sean's.
Sean's review of mine and Mike's.
My review of Mike's and Sean's.

I'm still up for it. At least we'd be getting regular, original articles up. Most people would read them. Well, except Venom, of course.

Funkodrom
13-06-2002, 15:54:31
Should be one review for each CD.

Reviewer 1's comments
Reviewer 2's comments
Compiler's comments

We could limit number of tracks to 10 per CD..

*End Is Forever*
13-06-2002, 15:57:03
Oops, yeah, of course. Didn't sleep much last night, I'm not thinking straight. :)

Ten is too small I think, especially if we're trying to cater to two different people at the same time... :)

I'd prefer 15, but maybe I could be persuaded by 12.

Snapcase
13-06-2002, 15:59:38
Possible suggestion: Three-track Mini CD cross-sent to a dozen people. :D

Funkodrom
13-06-2002, 16:00:33
That's a cool idea.

Funkodrom
13-06-2002, 16:00:56
Expensive in CDs though...

Snapcase
13-06-2002, 16:03:59
A lot of us have fast connections. I'm sure you could send those pesky 50 Mb Wav files to me using some sort of on-line storage thing or direct connect, and I could make a double album of all the entries.

Funkodrom
13-06-2002, 16:17:39
I've only got 128 down 56 up. Would take several years.

Sean
13-06-2002, 17:15:25
I’m on the same connection as Mike.

I think it would be good to do it the way Mike suggested, with one article per CD.

We are supposed to be catering to the recipients? Whoops.

I want to put as many tracks as I can fit on a CD on.

Pack the buggers full of goodness.

Sean
13-06-2002, 20:52:03
What’s the best way to put this CD together? Rip the tracks as WAVs then copy them back to a music CD?

Snapcase
13-06-2002, 21:04:01
That's how I did mine. You need a gig free on you HD, but otherwise...

Nero Burnign ROM supports M3U playlists as well, which is handy for track ordering.

Sean
13-06-2002, 21:07:14
Not PLS playlists?

Sean
13-06-2002, 21:08:27
Well, I have decided upon the first track and the last track. The rest are up for grabs.

Snapcase
13-06-2002, 21:17:29
I'm sure it supports multiple playlist types. Since I use Winamp...

Sean
13-06-2002, 21:23:45
You should use PLS lists!

Funkodrom
14-06-2002, 08:25:17
I use PLS playlists. :D

Er... yeah, I rip the songs to WAV then listen to them and reorder the tracks on the harddrive then burn them onto CD.

Snapcase
14-06-2002, 09:06:08
What's a PLS playlist, then, and what makes it different?

Funkodrom
14-06-2002, 09:57:29
No idea.
