Supposed to be flying to Scotland for Christmas but youngest daughter has Chickenpox so we can't fly and are now driving. \o/

Driving is fun, as long as you don't have to do it all in one go!

We're stopping at an Ibis budget in Lymm on the way. Where we always stop.

TBH we were only flying because we thought there was a good chance the weather would be hell this time of year, but it's not that bad.

Goodluck and I hope the chicken pox is mild.

Ugh, chickenpox is best when they're young. It sucked at 17.

Safe driving!

It's 400 miles which is a lot for the UK but I know you Americans and Aussies consider that a nice short trip.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

They stop them at Christmas to fix the tracks. Or at least some of them. So it's replacement but services everywhere.

I could use a replacement butt, mine's sore from sleeping on an old guest bed.

I'm not complaining because it's Christmas and awesome.

I once did 1200 miles from Denver to California in one 20-hour marathon. With a cat. But I was crazy at the time.

Still, apart from the Utah leg which seemed endless, it was relatively okay. Though I don't suggest stopping at a Bakersfield gas station at 2 in the morning to get your cat to use the litter box. Very scary.

Mormons make everything seem endless.
