View Full Version : Feeling a little guilty

I really wanted to play Fallout 4 and I couldn't take any vacation as I burned that in Hong Kong recently. Got stuck next to some coughing fool on the flight back and burned most of my sick days the week after getting back on top of that. So I had to get clever. My boss is out for the week so I baited my boss' secretary into having a meltdown. This was so she would scream at me profusely as she has a habit of losing her marbles. After a good couple of minutes of a tirade, she said, "if your gonna be like that, you need to leave!"

So I left, went home and played Fallout 4. My boss called and after some talking, he is cool with it. Everyone in the office saw her have the meltdown on me and what I said was harmless to all but the voices in her head. I feel a little guilty for baiting her, but hey, a paid holiday of playing Fallout 4!

Debating on telling my boss I will work from home tomorrow so I can play some more as I am ahead on my work. That way his secretary can calm down, and I can be productive at the house (in leveling my character).

My boss just said he doesn't need any paperwork from me until Tuesday. It doesn't get much better than that. Just had a vacation and now will get to play video games for a week.

Hopefully the X-Com launch goes this well.

I am feeling a little guilty about eating all that free food on vets day. Free breakfast, lunch, and dinner at different restaurants. I did at least buy a drink and leave a nice tip but still it feels like I was milking the system.

Going into Starbuck's for free coffee after all that was maybe a bit too much.

I feel guilty because instead of enjoying the strike I'm here playing civ.
I had a plan to take a book and go to a park and read it

Trip, that was awful.

Fortunately I had a Federal Holiday Fallout 4 Marathon

...except for the walking the dog, sanding some drywall joints, painting the ceiling, going to a neighborhood HOA meeting, and watching the Pens game. I bet I still played four hours or so, which is an eternity these days.

and BUILDING VILLAGES. It's like legos, but somehow nerdier.

I've started saying "Stupid Dog!" to Dogmeat a lot, like Grandpa from Courage.

I really don't see the point of the villages. All it does is waste resources I can pour into better guns and armor. I only built up sanctuary before I learned my lesson. Everything else just gets a couple turrets and nothing to encourage growth so they don't get attacked and I can move on.

The story is trash, but it is expected with Bethesda. The game itself is rather fun. I just wouldn't call it an RPG at all anymore. It is darn near a pure FPS at this point with some elements thrown in to hide that fact.

I don't even talk to dogmeat or give him commands anymore. I just let him run out and get maimed most of the time. Too many legendary mutants and deathclaws running around on survivor to not have a meat shield. Dogmeat is my bait so I can get into some cover.

I hear Erdogan is still arresting journalists. That is bad but not as bad as Putin killing journalists and opposition leaders.

1. Yeah, Erdo's math is simple: Kurd is turd and Vienna here we come 3.0. Good thing: Salzburg becomes Austria's capital (mymymy, it's CivV allover again)
2. Tahir Elci was a lawyer. Tally ho! Hooray for Erdo (sorry Dyl!)
