Anyone remember that crazy module S3 Expedition to the Barrier Peaks?

Turns out someone does and made these brilliant cartoon posters of an imagined adventure taking place: http://io9.com/gorgeous-insane-posters-take-you-on-the-greatest-d-d-c-1639298655?utm_campaign=socialflow_io9_facebook&utm_source=io9_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow

I don't think we ever got past the police robots. That place was a meat grinder.

Also, how's this for nostalgia... I was looking for a yearbook to find a picture of a guy that just sent my sister a letter to say he's been thinking about her for the last 25 years (creepy creepy), and I came across my red and blue D&D books from the fifth grade. Forgot I even had those.

That module link site, has most of the old modules on PDF - major nostalgia indeed!

Ah yes, my first adventure aged 9 - got killed by the bugbears when we stupidly took the food they offered... :D

I loved the against the giants series (S1-3). TSR made them into a whole Grayhawk campaign back in the day. You started with keep on the borderlands, moved on to the slavers series, then against the giants, and finally fight the drow in queen of the demonweb pits.

G1-3. Not to mention the Slavers giving you a whacking if you'd gone straight from B2... ;)

I'm trying to remember our various progressions as they usually involved a range of source material including White Dwarf scenarios and plain old making our own shit up. Our DM made a brilliant mash up of I1 Dwellers of the Forbidden City - such a great module to adapt over and above what is basically a framework for you to flesh out.

Apologies, Oerdin, it's a French site... :D
