Sort of looks good from this.

ARGH.

Judging by the early looks, I value that game at $29.99.

I think this will be my new rating system. How much would I pay for the game. A good game will be priced at the same retail sales price. Bad games will be priced less. Great games will be priced more.

Good rating I think it's worth $14:99

It looks interesting, and it's civ and I like civ, but it doesn't look interesting enough for full price. IE $49.99 or $59.99 depending on who's ripping you off, I mean the type of game.

Now I'm curious. Which game would you pay full price for?

For me it's none because I don't have time to play games any more.

Poor you. I have.

Skyrim would be one. Technically great, packed with content, but still kinda empty when you hit mid game. Probably Mass Effect 2 as well. Possibly Silent Hunter 3 as well. That would be more than retail price because it's awesome and endlessly playable, but loses points for having the worst DRM of all time.

Games I've played that I would pay more for? Something like Half-Life, or Dragon Age: Origins.

Civ IV, Borderlands 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Torchlight 2 for me.

Civ IV, Borderlands 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Torchlight 2 for me.

BL2, but only with all the DLC. Not yet sold on the pre-sequel.

Based on the previous entries in the series, Infamous: Second Son, but not if I have to also buy the PS4 it runs on.

I'm probably going to pre-order Dragon Age inquisition. I loved the first two games, even II which I know some of you didn't like, and new one is going more tactical.

Plus I played the first two both on Console so I didn't lose the stuff you lost off PC because it never had it.

Well, it looks nice, but WHY ON EARTH DOES IT HAVE TO BE MORE "OPEN WORLD" - STYLE?! Who would want Dragon Age to be like The Elder Scrolls? I loved the first part because you were free to decide what to do next but didn't have to run around for ages "exploring".

Apart from that, it looks better than the second one because they re-introduced a lot of things from the first one. We'll see.

I got Skyrim a few months ago and have played not much 'cause of kids and things, but I tend to agree.

There's a definite line between "restricted, yet free enough" and "my god, what the hell am I trying to do again?" openness. I think Skyrim crossed that line and that's why the game loses focus. Unless you stay laser focused on that main quest, 20 hours in you're decorating your 4th home like you're playing The Sims.

At the same time, there's the on rails experience of most shooters and a game like Dragon Age 2, where everything is so restricted it lessens the experience. Like all game development, it's a balancing act.

Agreed, 2nd part was very restricted. But the first part was brilliant: nice places and areas and landscape to explore to find the quest-spot or whatever (mostly marked on the map!) plus a world map to move on but always sure what to do, where you are and where to go. Just great. No real need for "Open World"! That's not what makes good role play...

100% agreed altho I never played silent hunter 3, might give it a try when my Dark Souls 2 addiction fades.

I'm probably going to pre-order Dragon Age inquisition.

No way in hell, I preordered DA2 and I still regret it now. Watered down mechanics, a storyline as epic as a goat sim? No thanks. I have very little faith in DA3.

I was lucky enough to be able to cancel my DA2 pre-order. I eventually got the game for like $15, though even that was too much. Game was worth $9.99 at most. Probably more like $7.

Same with BF4: Got it for 20 bucks. Hardly worth it.

I haven't bought a game in years. I've just been playing free online games nowadays.
