Due to XP becoming obsolete, I had to upgrade 2 of our home PCs to Win8.1 (that, and LoC wanted to play Bioshock Infinite). Upon installing it, I discovered that it's shit (Windows, not Bioshock).

Is there any thing I can do to make it less shit? Am I just getting old and losing my ability to adapt to stuff the Young People are into these days? At least it's not on my machine, I have Win 7, I like Win7, it doesn't suck too bad.

Face it: it is shit and it will be shit.
I recommend installing Win7.

So do I. Well, naturally, the price is equal to Windows 8, but it's worth it.

How did you get the idea to buy Windows 8 anyway?!

I feared as much. I'll give the article about making it work like win 7 a read, but I think it's just going to have to be awful. I can probably get away with swapping out to 7 on the boys machine, but I think LoC will stay with 8.1 to save the hassle of yet another OS install.

Damn Microsoft Fisher Price interfaces.
