Brunswick, Georgia, USA

Maybe I'll find some low country boil! (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/low-country-boil-recipe/index.html)

I will probably post from the hotel so you bastards don't get a break.

23-04-2013, 08:52:20

23-04-2013, 09:38:55
She should post more.

23-04-2013, 09:46:00
Yeah, don't distract her too much when you visit her!

23-04-2013, 13:05:43
Does Mrs. MDA know about this?

23-04-2013, 14:17:07
She probably paid him to go.

24-04-2013, 20:01:15
:p Her mom needs a wheelchair at the moment, someone has to push it.

Two days in and she can use a walker at least some of the time. Sun and fresh air.

Spent the day in a Georgia hospital. MIL finished steroid treatment recently and they say her blood pressure drop is a common side effect. The GP failed to mention this, no doubt our failure to consult her cardiologist about a vacation means it's our fault. So, the arrhythmia is probably our fault too. These "doctor" guys can go from hero to zero in no time at all. Everyone has been pretty friendly and nice, but damn... hospitals suck. Georgia is polite, though. "Miss" this, "miss" that, and not because they can't pronounce arcane Polish surnames. Sure she's been a Mrs. for 53 years, but it can't hurt to make a sick girl feel young.

FIL, BIL, and I got loaded on margaritas tonight, the ladies (neither drink much at all) drove our feeling sorry for ourselves asses home. Home as in home or comfy hotel, not hospital with people poking at you at all hours. What a week.

Think I'm finally down enough to sleep witohut spinning.

29-04-2013, 08:59:34
It's not that polite if they are calling you Miss.

29-04-2013, 10:49:59
don't push her from the stairs, it's a facht that people in wheelchhairs really don't like that

29-04-2013, 13:51:05
Next time vacation in Pittsburgh, better hospitals!

29-04-2013, 14:36:33
Lots of thieves.

29-04-2013, 22:39:51
Thieves and pirates.

To top the vacation off, we had to put the dog down. Cancer for everyone. Fucking hell.

Best sign on the trip: "Mr. Pete's Pecans and Gas Next Exit" Pieter knows nuts.

30-04-2013, 08:05:06
Ah, sorry about the dog. :(

30-04-2013, 08:30:35
It sounds like your vacation kind of sucked. I recommend a do-over!

30-04-2013, 10:02:41
The anti vacation...:(

30-04-2013, 11:28:39

This is really good advice.

30-04-2013, 13:41:40
Sorry to hear about your dog :(

Cancer sucks.

30-04-2013, 14:00:22

I guess you can't keep eating garbage off the sidewalk and not have it affect your health. Hear that, Lurker?

Don't feel too bad, I may yet sell a hit country song about this. Screen porch, pond, spanish moss, family hardship, and the dog dies at the end. All the right ingredients.

30-04-2013, 14:18:37
I still think Pittsburgh would have been better!
There was even an art parade!!

"At an annual art school parade, a female student dressed up as the pope, and was naked from the waist down while she passed out condoms.

Even more, witnesses say the woman had shaved her pubic hair in the shape of a cross."

Your MIL might not have liked that though.

30-04-2013, 16:15:18
Ah, Catholic girls. :D

Pittsburgh isn't exactly a new adventure for us.

29-11-2013, 14:43:49
:( My mother-in-law finally lost, Thanksgiving Day.

Years of smoking, lung cancer, spread to brain. She had a lot of regrets at first, then focused all her energy on fighting it. Two years isn't a bad run for that kind of cancer.

It's been a long, long week.

29-11-2013, 15:56:59
Oh sorry! Much love sent to your family. Difficult time :(

29-11-2013, 17:28:04
