I like this idea though obviously it wouldn't work for larger infrastructure projects but it is an innovative way for the people of a city to get an improvement they want when the local government doesn't want to fund it.

Heck, it even looks good for a pedestrian bridge. The Dutch seem a very civic minded people and I wish we could get such spirit here in the US.

well only the first part(50.000 euro) is financed by crowdfunding, the city put in a 4 mil subsidy.
That bridge goes right through the building I work

it's very helpfull for me to get my cigarettes at the other site of the street, for the rest the bridge sucks monkey ballls

I need to go back to Flying Dog Brewery (http://flyingdogales.com/). It's ten minutes away, and I didn't get to try all I wanted last time.

Rotterdam would be a cooler trip, though.
