View Full Version : New Experience

We moved to Chile a week ago. I am an Assistant Professor now. A move up the ladder for me, but we have to see if we can make a life for ourself in Chile.

We have had many experiences so far, here is a first one.

So, there is apparently a beard nesting in our extra bedroom.

We are in Chile, it is nice here (22 in the day, 13 at night, we leave the windows open), sunny. We are staying in a temporary place until the end of February.

We don't use the extra bedroom except for storage of our luggage.

A week ago we chased a bird out (maybe 2). A few days later we did again (it pooed on our stuff).

Then we went in, and looked under the bed. The bird is sitting there (not moving), it doesn't move when we move the bed, just looks at us.

I am suspicious there are eggs involved.

This is not the first new experience... I and Vaneshree (my wife) live in interesting times.

Vaneshree is a South Indian name, Tamil or Telegu specifically. She is of Indian descent born and raised in South Africa.

Inquiring minds want to know...what kind of bird is it?

It is some common bird, found in cities, not a pretty one.

It just flew away, there are two small eggs.

We shut the window, I think this experience will soon be over.
