On this coming Tuesday, November 13th, I am having my right shoulder operated on for the rotator cuff. It's been about 6 weeks or so since I had rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder and I just wanna get them done.

Here's the good part, one day after I have surgery, my wife will have surgery on her back for a ruptured disc. She had been dealing with a herniated disc the past few weeks and has had 3 epidurals in her spine but it ruptured anyway.

Man we are 2 sorry sons of guns. Thank God 2 of our kids that are living with us right at the moment will be here to help us or we would have been up the creek with paddles but unable to use them.

Wish us luck, man we need it. And no news yet on the permanent disability , retire thingy. Have a good weekend folks and I'll hollar at you when I can. :-P~~

Ouch OW, I wish you both well!
I know about the kids helping myself, having a nursing student in the house sure helps and the other one makes sure I take my meds on time.

OW is a proper nick. So is Mrs. OW.
My advice; use the morphine drip.

j.... I take MS Contin, 60 mg twice a day... It is morphine sulphate... as close as they will give to to a morphine drip. :) I also take 1 Norco (hydrocodone) 10/325 every 6 hours. This is all a daily basis... monthly... yearly.... it wears on ya. It is all for what they call pain management.

Oh well, it has been 12 years or so on narcotics daily already so, I'm used to it. It is for life.

After the operation, I will also be adding 15 mg oxycodone as well and as needed (on top of all my other narcotics) for pain control.

It sucks, wears you out ... but amazingly enough I am still fully functional in the head even after all the pills. I feel like a drug addict but it doesn't effect me as it would most others as I have taken them for so long it is almost normal now.

Thanks zmama and MDA for the kind words. It is always appreciated and makes one feel better about themselves when getting words of encouragement from friends. Thanks guys.

Good luck for both of you. Make sure the surgeon is sober.
